This COMITOK Phone Camera Grip works very well! There are fancier phone grips with more functionality, but prices can start to shoot up. This one will probably suit many people just fine.I actually like how the buttons and wheels work, especially the zoom. Since it moves in very small increments, it helps me find the best composition one tiny step at a time ––– unlike other remotes and small cameras I have that slide through zoom levels so fast it’s hard to control.I’ll add some observations to the many in-depth comments from other reviewers (there are many on the product pages COMITOK has posted for this same grip in other colors).One odd, though likely acceptable thing:When the phone is vertical, the “exposure wheel” doesn’t work for exposure. There, it only changes the mode, like from “photo” to “portrait,” “pano,” and so on. You have to shift exposure the old way, by sliding your finger across the screen.However, when the phone is in landscape mode, AND you have tapped the focus button to bring up the focus box, and then long-pressed the same focus button to lock the focus, THEN that same “exposure wheel” comes alive and lives up to its name, adjusting exposure. That’s nice, and I only wish it would do this for vertical shots.The focus button does work the same way for both Vertical and horizontal Landscape shots. I personally don’t care that there is no shutter button half-press to lock focus like a DSLR, as some people felt. I think the focus button handles that function.As anticipated from the product description, this grip seems to work only with the onboard Apple camera app. I’m guessing this may have to do with how the 3rd-party camera app developers write their apps, since other grips on Bolo function within these limitations as well, even far more expensive iPhone grips. I recently researched a much more expensive phone grip with a built-in phone charger that said it only worked with that company’s pro camera app and would not be fully functional with other 3rd-party apps like ProCamera ––– or even with the Apple camera. ProCamera itself sells a grip designed to work with its own app.Nevertheless, I gave this COMITOK Grip the old college try with a couple of apps, ProCamera and Halide, and many of the buttons and dials ––– well, they performed mostly unexpected actions ––– button functions overlapped ––– basically, only useful as a tripod phone mount, and yes, shutter release.The COMITOK grip works with the Apple camera only, as intended. It does all the functions described on the product page, and I think it does them very well.

Hey folks. Shivers here!So this camera handle? Grip? What ever you would like to call it, not bad! So a few things I was hoping for, but I’m not going to detract. Price point and what you get is nice!So in the box everything is wrapped up nice with brown paper and old time wax stamps. Nice touch. Everything is wrapped in plastic. You get some instructions that are decent, a lanyard (has a soft plastic tab that will lock into your iPhone home case and come out the charging hole. That’s nice!!) , 60watt braided charging cable, type c both ends… that’s good and bad for folks. Not as common as type A. For charging that would have been best I think. Yet it’s really nice. Dow’s come with a magnetic ring if you don’t have a case with one. Normal charging ring won’t be strong enough. No wireless charging folks.The grip has instructions listed as stickers on the handle! They are again nice and work well. Remove before installing.Now if your case has a magnet built in, should work! Mine did and grip is good! Passed my shake over the couch cushion test!The grip itself is…. Well… it feels like it’s price point. It’s light weight.. little too light if you ask me.. plastic feels… not luxury. But functional!For buttons it has power, zoom in and out. Different camera mode and lens function (photo, video, panorama, and so forth) camera access button. BUT no side button like the phone to change the white tones. I guess you can reach it while you hold the phone with the grip. It’s a tad… awkward. Be nice if all camera functions were included on the grip.It allows you to have the phone side ways or long, and holds just as well. Little thumb grip is a nice touch. Rubber feels good but picks up dirt fast so does the white plastic. Wish it felt more metal camera like.Listen, if your looking for a functional grip that will allow you to add a Tri-pod stand, and do a neat assortment of functions, that won’t break the bank.. this is a decent choice to consider.The unit came charged and pairs right up to my phone it did take me cycling my IPhone 17 pro max.. but it connected.We will see how long the battery last, and what kind of photo troubles or adventures I can muster up!Thanks for reading my no fluff no AI review!
