This is not a massive leap from the Mobile 7, but it’s got enough tweaks that I’m glad I made the switch. The most noticeable change is the magnet. It’s stronger — like, noticeably stronger. I don’t feel like I’m second-guessing the connection anymore, which is a relief and worth this upgrade alone for me.The 360° pan rotation is a really nice touch. I’m still figuring out how to use it creatively, but it opens up some fun possibilities for smoother shots and more dynamic movement. It’s one of those features that feels like it’ll pay off more the longer I use it.I haven’t tested the pet tracking yet — sadly we have no pets in my house at the moment — but I might have to go visit a friend to try this on their dog. If it’s anything like the regular tracking, I expect it’ll hold up pretty well.The built-in extension rod and tripod are just like they are on the 7. Battery life’s solid — I haven’t run it down yet. And the foldable design makes it easy to toss in a bag without feeling like I’m packing a full rig.One other thing that I really like is just how fast this connects to the app. It is almost instantly.Agent Squirrel's Field Report: Before I write a review, I put it through my own interrogation process. DJI Osmo Mobile 8 represents an impressive new iteration of the Osmo Mobile line of gimbal devices for smart phones. I’ve had an Osmo Mobile 6 for the past three years, and for me number 8 is a significant must-have update with lots of features that make it easier to use and much more versatile. However, for those who own a Mobile 7P, I’m not sure that the differences are great enough to warrant an upgrade to Mobile 8.A major feature I appreciate is the included “Multifunctional Module” (also a feature of the Mobile 7P). It increases tracking reliability, including the ability to track animals among other features—the most important to me is that it serves as a receiver for a remote DJI Mic Mini. Another, seemingly minor, change is the slightly angled pistol-style grip, which is indeed more comfortable. The telescoping handle extension has also been improved and allows more flexibility in ways I can use this gimbal. Another feature I like—though I don’t know how much I’ll use it—is the new ability for 360º panning. I can imagine a few applications, but they would be rare.For those considering this mobile gimbal model but undecided, I suggest watching one or two online video reviews, as I did. There are also a couple of good ones that compare the DJI with its main competitor. They helped me decide to upgrade to this model. Overall, I’m highly impressed with this mobile gimbal. I think it’s a worthwhile upgrade from Mobile 6 or 7, but if you already have Mobile 7P, it might make more sense to wait for DJI Mobile 9.

The DJI Osmo Mobile 8 feels solid and well-built. Setup was quick - it can be used with or without the DJI Mimo app (without the app you lose touch/subject tracking), and the NFC contact to start bluetooth pairing is a cool feature.The phone clamp is very secure, almost too tight, but it gives me peace of mind that the phone won't fall out.Stabilization is excellent - footage looks smooth and is perfect for action shots. The extension rod doesn't extend far but is nice to have. The fill light can also get very bright, although it does take some guessing to get to the brightest stop without turning it off - I believe there are about 5 levels and different temperature levels, and 'light off' follows the brightest, if you pass it, you have to hold the on/brightness button to turn the light back on again.The only drawback this gimbal has in my opinion is that it's a bit hefty, around 370g (0.82 lb). Overall though it’s a great choice if you want your phone videos to look polished without much effort.

Have tried over time to get better at using functions on phone while holding on to phone or even with using smart watch functions. This device did the trick with so many challenges and in using the phones photo features. The best is the stabilization and clarity in recording moving action (sporting event). If you have been using your iPhone without this kind of tool, you will be amazed (after figuring things out with the manual and some trial and error short learning curve) how different the end result is by using this. Excited to get better at using the tools integrated back to the phone. The price is comparable to other tools, but this one is easy to use and with the built in extender, it will be a great addition to doing group pics that don't look like the standard selfy. Fun!

The DJI Osmo Mobile 8 is honestly next level for anyone making content with their phone. The stabilization is super smooth, even when you’re moving fast and the 3-axis gimbal makes everything look professional without any jerky footage. I love the adjustable pole and tripod, it’s great for low angle shots, following pets, or just setting it down for hands free filming. The tracking feature is awesome too, keeping you or your subject perfectly in frame, and the built-in light makes filming in low light way easier.It’s packed with extra features like 360 degree rotation, phone charging while filming and compatibility with the DJI Mimo app for extra modes and controls. The phone mount can handle larger phones and the whole thing is surprisingly versatile for solo creators.It’s a bit pricey, but considering all the tech and functionality, it’s worth it.For anyone serious about phone videography, this is one of the best gimbals you can get.

Super Gerät. Bin umgestiegen vom Gimbal 4 auf den neuen.Gestern habe ich das Gerät erhalten und habe alles einmal probiert.Super ist die Integration der DJI Mics. Bislang hatte ich den Empfänger immer mit einem Kabel dran, da der Empfänger für den alten Gimbal zu groß war und ni ht mehr in alle Richtungen frei schwenken konnte. Das war für mich auch der ausschlaggebende Grund für den Umstieg.Die Zusatzfeatures wie ausziehbar, kleine Füße hatten die Versionen davor auch schon.
