This thing is fantastic for pulling weeds with deep taproots like dandelions. It takes some practice to position it the proper distance from a weed center, but it's easy to push straight down into reasonably soft dirt to lever up the deeper parts of the weed. The metal this was stamped and folded from is thick and sturdy, and it resists flexing and bending very well. I wasn't able to get it to bend at all by flexing it in my hands. Though I haven't yet seen any chipping or scratching of the dark green powder coat on the blade, I expect this will happen if it's used in rockier soil. Finally, the handle is thick plastic with overmolded rubber, so it's comfortable to use for extended periods. For the price, I recommend this over smaller forked weeders or gardening shovels for localized weeding and digging.

Got this for my husband, who is the gardener. But I may steal it for my container plants. What a nifty tool! You can dig out roots, pop out weeds, and even measure how deep the hole is for planting. It's very sturdy- this thing is not going to bend or break. Husband was skeptical when I asked if he would use it, but when we got it, he was impressed. IF he can get it away from my potting table, that is!
