I'm on a low carb diet looking for options to fill different purposes and candy is one of those things I'd have mostly resigned to giving up. I've been okay with that over the years but seeing new options pop up like this Sugar Free Peanut Butter Bars Candy from Fusion Sweets and Snacks, makes me revolt against my principles and violate my diet with candy once more! I dug right in - the flavor is both sweet and peanut-buttery, and the texture both crumbly and a dense sugar-like sticky feel. I worried it might get stuck in my teeth but it wasn't that bad. Eating one usually led to eating more. It was hard to stop. There was a label with ingredients and a suffocation warning on it, but unfortunately there was no NUTRITION FACTS label as mandated by the powers that be. I see on the listing here, that information is provided, but it really should be on the package itself since it might have been my last line of defense from eating the whole bag thru in one sitting. Thankfully that did not happen and it took several sittings. I tried to solve the problem of eating too many, and it turns out the only solution was to eat them all, so I did. I guess it was worth it! 5/5 for candy flavor, but taking off one star for the Nutrition Facts not being on the package to allow my rational mind to prevent overeating. $15 for a pound is kind of expensive, but it is a pound and maybe it'll last you a few days if you have any semblance of self-control. Enjoy at your own peril!

These are quite tasty, and you don't sacrifice too much deliciousness by forgoing the sugar. BUT that's because you're not forgoing the calories. The sweetener in this candy is polyglycitol syrup, which is a mixture of maltitol and sorbitol, two sugar alcohols. They have 3/4 the calories of sugar, so you're still clocking a cool 3 calories per gram of the stuff. On the bright side, sugar alcohols are one of the most realistic-tasting artificial sweeteners out there, and some of them are even good for your teeth.As for the candies themselves, they have a nice, fresh peanutty taste and a nice, airy crunchy texture. They do take on an odd texture once you start chewing them. The chewing compresses the polyglycitol syrup that was aerated to create the initial crunch, and apparently polyglycitol solids don't melt as easily in the mouth as sugar does. Where a real-sugar crunchy candy would melt away when you chew it, these compress into a rough-feeling sheet of slowly dissolving solid syrup (maybe the peanut flour is part of that too). So the mouthfeel isn't great, though the odd texture does melt eventually and doesn't last too long. I think that's the main sacrifice you make if you choose this over real-sugar candy.Also, the bag conveniently doesn't provide nutrition facts. Pretty sure that's a violation of FDA retail-packaging food labeling laws. Sure hope nobody reports them…

Always forget all about these until I see a bag somewhere. I was a little hesitant being sugar free but these do NOT taste sugar free at all. No fake sweet aftertaste or anything. Taste like the real thing. Big one pound bag. None look or taste old or stale.

Sugar Free Peanut Butter Bars - 1 Pound Individually Wrapped - Atkinson Bulk Peanut Butter Candy tastes like nothing. There is absolutely no peanut butter flavor. They are just small rectangular bricks of slight sweetness. Even if you chew the bars, the peanut flavor is nowhere to be found. Also, many of the candies weren't properly wrapped and the wrapper around them was not twisted tightly, exposing the candy to the elements. This was an all around no for me.

I was happy to (re) discover these peanut butter bars, and even more happy that they are sugar-free.I imagined that I would have to give up some of the classic flavor due to there being no added sugar, but I was pleasantly surprised. They are wonderfully delicious just like I have always remembered.A plus? Gluten-free, which is necessary for my entire family to enjoy them.Also the small, individually-wrapped pieces allow for precise portion control, which is one of my weaknesses for a candy like this. And it also makes it easy to keep some in the car, at the office, and on the table in a candy dish.Finally, they tasted very fresh, and just perfect...no "aftertaste" or anything like that.I hope this review was helpful and I highly recommend these tasty, nostalgic, fresh peanut butter treats.
