I needed to cover our wood stairs to provide traction for a new puppy, without actually gluing or attaching it to the stair. This product is exactly as advertised. The rubber backing has done a good job of keeping the product in place. The carpet is thick enough to provide cushioning on the stair. The color is as advertised and matches the staircase. VERY happy with my purchase - the puppy is navigating the stairs with ease.

These are useful right out of the box. If you want them to stay squared up, use the tape that comes with them.

Exactly what I needed for soooo cheap. Now the kids and dogs won’t slip on our new stairs. And they are aesthetically pleasing too. They non slip backing works ok, but not bullet proof with dogs running up. I did end up taping down the edges but no big deal.

My first impression comes just from the box itself. These are heavy stair treads, which leads me to expect they're durable. This held true when I opened the box. The treads have a carpeted top on a thick, rubber backing.The carpet weave is a blend of shades to make up a beige overall color that looks even better than I'd hoped.We installed them on the wood staircase to our basement, using carpet treads glue when there didn't appear to be any glue in the package itself. In rereading the description, though, they don't require any adhesive at all unlike the other stair treads I'd been researching. This is a quality I have not yet checked, but since I have more treads than the staircase we used them on, I will before posting.Glued down, these feel firm and make the stairs feel more secure to walk down. Add that to the tight weave of the carpet blending many colors, and I am very happy with the stair-treads.However, when I tried just setting them on another staircase, even with smoothing them out several times, there were issues. First off, the treads were half-folded in the delivery box. The bump caused by this remained in the treads for quite a bit despite folding them in the opposite direction and smoothing them down. This is not a permanent problem, but something to be aware of when installing them.I also tested the grip on the step. When I stepped firmly on the tread, it held. But when I shifted my weight with my foot still on the tread as would happen when going up or down the stairs, or especially when falling, the tread moved two inches closer to the edge. That's not a lot of movement, but if I were slipping, it's enough to overbalance me and might cause a fall. Then, over time of natural use, the tread moved further toward the back of the stair.Personally, I would use carpet tape or glue to secure anything you intend to be used as a safety feature, and for me, that amount of shift would not be reasonable.
