I've been feeding my dog a variety of Vital Essential entrees and snackies for years... he has always loved every one of them (maybe not the tripe so much) and this is no exception.This seems to be a new product for VE - it's a larger nugget with a softer texture, very similar to another raw freeze dried brand without using their lengthy synthetic vitamin pack. It does have a few of the essential vitamins added not available in the average raw diet of muscle meat, raw meaty bones and secreting organs but it's not a long list, just what seems necessary to meet RNC recommendations.My doggie's favorites are usually the crunchies, but it didn't take him long to get into these and has been enjoying them without hesitation ever since.My only complaint would be that because they are soft, bits and pieces flake off pretty easily. I usually use this type of food as his snackies that he doesn't know aren't snackies. I break them in half - which is incredibly easy to do btw. They also feel a little oily it's not terrible or messy but it's something to note.For reference, I have a very (VERY) picky eater on my hands and he does well with these.

When I first opened this freeze-dried dog food, I thought the pieces looked large. However, they are nice and soft and easy for my dogs to chew and eat. I used it as a topper for the evening meal and immediately noticed one of my dogs ate the freeze-dried dog completely before moving on to his regular food. He may not be able to talk, but I can tell he definitely loved it. My other dog also ate it up with no issue. The larger pieces could also be used as training treats, as they are a good size and my dogs love the taste.It is quite pricey for 3 lbs, but as a topper or to bring some along in a baggie for a road trip, it is a good option. My other concern is how long the bag will stay fresh. Since it is raw beef and salmon, I am concerned with mold. It does have a long expiration date, but I am not sure if this holds true once opened. I am interested to see if it does help with their teeth and digestion.

Exceptional dehydrated raw offering from very trusted brand Vital Essentials.This protein packed version of dehydrated raw are puffy pieces rather than crunchy and can crumble easily as a topper or mix in. PERFECT for those dogs who are missing teeth like my old boy - with this healthy soft nib version, he can still enjoy every benefit and be able to enjoy eating raw.This product DOES contain organ meat and bone - the beautiful part is delivery which is ground up into a easilly consumed version of chewy chunks and bone.LOVE the addition of salmon for the extra Omega kick!HIGHLY recommend the addition of this product to your rotation. PERFECT way to introduce your dog (or cat) to eating raw.

my doggo who doesn't eat his kibble without some sort of topper approves this vital essentials freeze dried dog food.he scarfs everything down without chewing, so i cut these down to fool him. he's happy with this beef&salmon flavorBEWARE, just like regular dog food, this 3 lb has the warning of "best if consumed when opened within a month"i suppose there could be issues with moisture getting into the freeze dried and mold, but i'll keep an eye out for textural changes.my plan is to divide the bag into a jar then reseal with all the air pressed out, so maybe i'll only open the bag 2/3 times and that should prevent any issues. (i do the same with my large bags of dog food that i can't use within their "recommended" timeline.)

These bites have a noticeable smell, definitely meaty/fishy and a bit pungent, but not overpowering or lingering. My dog actually seems to like the scent, which actually makes them great training treats. After just a few days, I’ve seen more regular digestion and less scratching; subtle, but promising. Overall, a solid supplement with a scent that’s tolerable for humans and appealing to dogs.

I'm so glad these are soft! I have small dogs and they absolutely love these freeze dried mixers and toppers, this is by far one of their favorites.The pieces are large so I was expecting to have to crumble them. I do crumble them, but even my small dogs can eat these large pieces whole because they're so soft.I use these as snacks in between their two daily meals and also as toppers and mixers. Everybody likes a little something different to eat, we don't want to eat the same thing all the time.If I use it as a topper, they lick it all off the regular food first and then look at me asking for more.The ingredients in these are so excellent and pure. I really appreciate this company's attention to healthy detail!10\10 would buy again.This is a huge bag and definitely worth the $99 price tag.

I have been getting Vital Essentials treats for several years now because I value the quality, and these are excellent, like the others I get.My 60lb lab mix will sometimes refuse to eat. She loves these nibs, and if I spike her food with these, it will often (not always!) mean that she'll start eating and finish her meal. I also like to give them to her as a special treat now and again.
