They're quite big, so they make for a pretty filling snack. They're a lot like fig newtons, but not as sickly sweet. There's no added sugar, so the natural plum sugar offers a nice, natural sweetness to the treat. The dough casing is a bit dry and crumbly, but the jam inside makes up for it. I agree with others, though, that you may want to have these with a cup of tea or at least some water. Overall, I'd recommend them!

They also remind me of fig newtons, as others have said, but sweeter and HUGE (compared to that sort of treat). They have a similar dry cookie-like outer wrap and a sweet jam that reminds me of what is inside of newtons.For me, about 1/3 of one of these is all the sweetness I need. I think I'd like them better if they were smaller like a newton cookie size, because it's just too much for me in this larger bar form. If you like this, though, then maybe it's just right for you.I like that it gives a sweet treat with a simple list of ingredients - its only flaw for me is the size - it's just more than I want to eat. I also don't love the super dry outside, but I feel that way about newtons, too!

These reminded me of a fig newton, but a little drier and not quite as sweet. The plum flavor is pleasant, and I like that they’re vegan with no added sugar. It’s nice to have something on hand that feels like a cleaner dessert option. That said, they didn’t exactly blow me away. I appreciate the wholesome ingredients and the individual wrapping for portion control, but I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to reorder them.

These snack bars are somewhat reminiscent of a fig Newton, although using plums instead of figs.The outer layer is not dissimilar also. They are quite dry, which is also true in my experience from fig newtons. Some people might have an issue with this, but I personally liked it. with amdelicious coffee.However, what I really really liked, was how non-sickly sweet the snack bar was.It had a pleasant level of sweetness, perfect for the plum jam that was inside.I drank a delicious cup of coffee and had this as my side snack and it was just perfect.I wish there were more snacks like this in America where a delicate less overpoweringly sweet experience is valued.I find that in Japan also, snacks which are not overly sweet are very popular.I enjoyed them very much and will be looking out for more similar less sweet items moving forward.

If you like Fig Newtons, then you'll probably like these. And I do. Obviously, fig is going to taste different from plum/date jam but it's essentially the same concept. The cookie part is a bit denser, drier, and crumbly. It's not unpleasant or stale tasting, but I personally would prefer a bit more moisture to hold the cookie together better. It is a vegan snack, so maybe ingredient restrictions limit how moist it can be? Not really sure how vegan baking works. Anyhow, I really like that the ingredients list is short, sweet, and simple. Basically fruit, flour, and oil. As far as value goes, I suppose it's fairly reasonable for a snack bar with natural ingredients, but given a choice I might reach out for a Fig Newton first.

I tried these Ambrozia plum jam bars, which are inspired by Romanian tradition. They have a simple fruity flavor since they're naturally sweetened with plum jam and date paste instead of added sugar. They have a satisfying chewy texture, which I'm guessing is from the oats. A nice option if you're looking for a snack with some Romanian nostalgia or a traditional, less sweet treat.

They survived shipping just fine. I found the outer soft cookie layer to be extremely dry. The inner filling didn't have much taste to it. It's palatable, but not something that I would get again.

I like that these are not as overly sweet as most packaged cookies and there is no added sugar. They are like a tube shaped newton cookie with similar texture and taste and the thick plum filling has just enough natural sweetness. This would be a very good choice for someone who has to (or just wants to) watch their added sugars.
