THE ASCENT: The Climb to Accountability and Caring Leadership

Description:

How do you become the kind of leader others want to follow—not have to follow?

In The Ascent, Steve Tusa—co-founder of Reseco and lifelong builder—shares a deeply personal and practical playbook for intentional leadership, drawn from decades spent navigating job sites, business deals, family challenges, and his own inner terrain.

This book is a real-world guide for leaders in construction and blue-collar industries who want to grow their teams, build trust, and leave a legacy worth following. Through candid stories and field-tested principles, Steve shows how to lead yourself first, then others—without losing your integrity, your energy, or your sanity.

Inside, you’ll learn how to:
  • Create clarity when the plan changes (because it always does)
  • Build a team culture that wins and lasts
  • Manage conflict, pressure, and doubt with courage
  • Communicate in ways that build alignment
  • Stay grounded as a leader, partner, and parent

Whether you're a project manager, business owner, or just starting your climb, The Ascent will challenge you to slow down, ask better questions, and lead on purpose. You’ll discover that leadership isn’t about having all the answers. Instead, it’s about showing up, staying curious, and committing to the climb.

This book is for those who build with their hands and lead with their hearts. It’s for the ones who don’t just want to make a living; they want to make it better for others, too.

If you’re ready to stop reacting and start leading with intention, The Ascent is your next step.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome read for Safety professionals.

This is an outstanding read. This book captures all what I have learned in the last 3 years working in Risk Management. You will learn more about yourself and where you need to be as a Safety professional. This book also helps those with safety ideas in no matter what your chosen career is. The most important and the first step is learning to “care” about others. The other skills and processes will follow once you mastered caring. Steve Tusa does an excellent job in explaining the process in easy to read examples and how it applies to real world experiences. I encourage you to dive into book especially if you are involved in safety or risk management.
