The 3ft ramp is long enough to traverse a height of up to 9" without assistance, but if you're in a pinch and/or don't mind the steep incline, this can be used for ~12" rise, with assistance. Keep in mind that a rise of 12" over a 3 ft span is a 33% incline, or approximately 20 degrees. This could be dangerous for a person in a wheelchair, but is quite do-able if you're using this as a ramp for a 2-wheel (or similar) hand truck (my personal situation).Definitely holds up to the required load. Not a problem with close to 500 lbs on the ramp

I used it for my garage step. It freaked me out, and I fell. It's meant for a wheelchair!

This wheelchair ramp works well for my needs. I can feel the weight when I pick this up. That weight makes it sturdy enough for both the wheelchair user to roll on and person pushing chair to walk on. Despite weight, it is worth carrying in the car to allow access via wheelchair or rollator. Sometimes all handicap parking is taken and that often is the only area with a ramp to sidewalk of establishment. It is some work getting this out of car and then returning it to the car in order to wheel parent into a place but better than going way out of the way to get to the only ramp provided. It also helps when visiting friend who have a step up to their front porch.
