With everyone trying to get more protein in their diet these days, these are a great way to get it done. Clif bars have been around awhile and I've had plenty of flavors through the years. This is a tried and true flavor with all sorts of nuts, raisins and chocolate. It's hard to go wrong there.The consistency is satisfying to bite into with a crunch and a chew. It's not too sweet, but has enough to add to the flavor.Overall, I think a lot of people would like to get their protein in a bar form factor like these instead of some of the other more heavily processed protein bars out there.

Really tasty new flavor of Clif Bar, definitely one of my new favorites! It’s not too sweet and provides a good amount of protein. It does not contain a bunch of artificial ingredients which is a big plus! Great bar for a meal replacement or an easy on the go snack.

CLIF BAR comes in a box with 5 individually wrapped bars, best buy date of August 3, 2026. When you pick one up you will notice these are rather dense and weighty bars, listed as 270 calories each. Open one up and they are not very pretty, its like a muddy mix of oats and nuts, and it has a softness to it where it will deform when applied pressure. The softness makes the texture sort of chewy, with bits of varying degrees of crunch, and it feels very thick to bite thru. The flavors are mostly mild but widely varied, its hard to lock anything done, maybe the peanuts stuck out most for me. The rice, oats, chocolate do stand out here and there and the bars actually have sugar in them, thou not overly sweet. As a snack I don't think I would ever choose these, but as a dense energy meal for the trails or wilderness I could see these as being a great option.

It has that sort of firm pull when you bite it, and I even messed with one just to see, bending it gently. It didn't break into pieces, which is nice for tossing it in a backpack for later. They really nailed the structure; it isn't chalky or dry at all.The flavor is described as trail mix, and you get all those nutty, grainy notes. There's definitely peanut butter involved, so heads up if you avoid that ingredient. My main observation is the sugar level. I was anticipating something minimally sweet, aiming for that fuel taste, but this is sweeter than I budgeted for. It’s still only lightly sweet overall, so it walks the line, but I noticed it right away. With 10 grams of protein, I did feel satisfied and my appetite stayed curbed for a good bit after eating one. The small box size means I won't have any issue finishing them well before the year long shelf life runs out.

They consistently deliver on energy and use quality ingredients, which I appreciate.Regarding this specific Trail Mix flavor, however, I found it to be just okay. It wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out compared to other Clif Bar options. It's important to mention that I'm not a big fan of trail mix in general, so my personal preference likely plays a significant role here. If you enjoy the typical blend of nuts, seeds, and dried fruit found in trail mix, you might like this bar more than I did.The quality seemed consistent with the Clif Bar brand – wholesome ingredients like organic oats, and a good texture. But purely based on taste, this wouldn't be a flavor I would choose again for myself. It simply didn't hit the mark for my personal palate compared to other flavors they offer.

I was eager to try these as Clif Bars have always been a mixed bag for me, some I find really tasty and while others I would never try again. These trail mix bars were fairly good. I can't say it was my favorite tasting protein bar ever but I did like the taste and I also liked how they filled me up. I first had one as a mid afternoon snack between lunch and dinner and it easily held me off until dinnertime. I would say peanut is the strongest taste, at least for me that was the flavor that stood out the most so if you don't care for peanuts you won't for these bars either. I would buy them again.
