Takes a few minutes to heat up, not a big deal if you plan for it. The cord is not very long, if you want to cover a larger area like a bedspread, or a hanging dress, get an extension cord. It does a great job of removing the wrinkles.

It heats up rapidly and glides smoothly. The auto shut off activates soon, but only tilt it back and will start again. Nice design as well. Like the digital temperature settings.
