The Upgrade Wireless Carplay and Android Auto Screen by NINEYIN is a portable car head unit that can be mounted on the dashboard of a vehicle. The unit supports both, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, it comes with a with backup camera and it has an integrated dashcam.The installation is very simple and the mounting adhesive stays put on the vehicle dashboard. The unit includes a USB Type-C to 12V car socket power cable with a USB-A charging port. There is also 64GB microSD card to record footage from the integrated dashcam. The backup camera is magnetic with a long cable that plugs into the side of the unit.This unit boots and connects to the phone very fast. The screen is nice and bright and Qthe touchscreen is very responsive. The interface is simple to navigate and the settings are well-organized. The settings and menus such as display preferences, volume, brightness, etc., are supper easy to find and adjust.This is a great unit for an old vehicle and it can be a nice upgrade for a small screen. This unit works wirelessly...so unlike many vehicle head units, it does not require a tether cable attached to your phone for it to work.The NINEYIN unit supports both platforms, Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Just like your smartphone, you have access to a good range of apps or you could even mirror your smartphone.It does support voice controls from both, Siri and Google Assistant. While driving, I use Google voice assistant which is the easiest way to interact with the infotainment system while keeping both hands on the steering wheel and attention on the road.The speakers are loud and have decent quality, but the unit can also be connected to a vehicle speaker system if there is an AUX in jack. I really liked that the volume could be adjusted from the vehicle control buttons when connected to the AUX jack. The microphone is also good and it works well when making phone calls.This unit is bigger, brighter, it loads faster, and it is more responsive that the screen in my 2019 vehicle.The backup camera works well and it offers a clear view. The "Parking Assist Lines" can be adjusted to your preference. It comes with connection that allows it to activate automatically when shifting into reverse. It also works fine manually, in case you do not want to finagle with your vehicle wire harness.The integrated dashcam recording is as good as the recording of a 1080p camera. This is not a 4K dashcam, since the recording is not even close to footage of my 2.5K dashcam. The footage from the integrated dashcam includes some useful details, such as street names and signs, but while in close proximity only. License plates are readable at very low speed or when standing very close and right in front. License plates of vehicles passing on the left or right on excess of 25MPH were not readable. So if I get side swiped and the drivers speeds off, it will be hard to get the evidence required in a traffic accident.The Upgrade Wireless Carplay and Android Auto Screen by NINEYIN unit is great. If you do not need its dashcam, this is a five star device. This unit brings hands free Apple CarPlay and Android Auto entertainment capabilities to any vehicle. It has a large 11.2" touchscreen that is responsive, bright and the unit is fairly priced. The backup camera is a nice safety add-on for extra view coverage when parking.

This is a very nice low profile but large screen CarPlay device. I got it for my 2020 Nissan Pathfinder that is just one year before they put in actual CarPlay in Nissans. I really love my car and the only thing it's lacking is CarPlay. I looked at and tried out a bunch of different styles and really liked this one the best. 1st off it is a large wide screen that can be mounted over my existing info-tainment screen and raised up out of the way when desired. The resolution is great - very sharp & clear with no flickering or pixilation. It connects quickly and reliably (stable) with my phone - do not need to actually plug it in to the device. There is a little bit of lag time on voice when watching a video using BT connection but no lag time when it is plugged into the device with a data-supporting lighting cord. It was super easy to install using the included USB data cable and my car's BT. I like the interface - looks just like others I have used in the past. The layout is adjustable and the profile colors can be customized a bit too. The sound quality is great - no discernable difference from the stock unit. The package I got came with a dash mount arm that worked pretty much perfectly to hold the screen over my existing display screen and I can lift it up when I want to use the stock back-up camera or need to adjust settings. I didn't install the included backup camera because I like my car's system with the 360 bird's eye view. The screen unit is sleek and nice looking. Because it is wide and not tall, even when it is in the up position it does not obstruct my view or look weird from the outside. The arm is also low-profile and sleek looking so it is barely noticeable from the outside. Getting an upgraded head unit from Nissan that has CarPlay installed is more than $600 so I am very happy with this unit given it's ease of install, performance, price and overall aesthetic.

Modernize Your Drive but Prepare for DIY Mounting Issues

Overall, it's been an impressive enhancement that’s really made a difference in my vehicle, but there are a few caveats worth considering.First off, installation is straightforward for basic CarPlay and Android Auto functionality—just plug it into your cigarette lighter, pair your phone, and you’re good to go. I tested both Android Auto and CarPlay and they worked perfectly. The responsiveness of the touchscreen is excellent; apps like Waze and Spotify launch quickly and operate smoothly, making it easy to navigate or switch music without fuss. A much smoother experience then some previous auto tablets I’ve tried in the past. I also like the formfactor of the large 11.26”-inch display which is vibrant and offers a lot of real estate for navigation, notifications, and works especially well for split-screen view.It also has an integrated 4K front dash cam, and a rear camera that you can route to the back of your vehicle. However, you’ll have to route the cord, which is very easy but may intimidate the average user. However, it is really easy and only takes about 20 minutes to route the cord, especially if you’re mounting it on the back windshield. If you’re mounting it outside the vehicle, say about the plate, it’s going to be a bit tricker, but still doable for those that want to attempt it - definitely watch installation videos ahead of time to see if it’s within your comfort zone.My biggest gripe (only gripe?) is the notable lack of mounting options. The included stand relies on adhesive tape, which isn’t ideal if you're not comfortable permanently attaching something to your dash. There is no suction cup option etc.. I ended up opting for a RAM mount after experimenting with various older mounts from other car tablets I owned, achieving a more stable and flexible positioning, that can be removed it/when needed without maring the dash.As for placement - you want to consider heat management. Initially placing this on the dash, I quickly noticed the unit getting extremely hot under direct sunlight, so much so that it prompting me to move it closer to the air vents to help maintain a cooler operating temperature. To be fair, this heat was due to the sun, not the unit, but expect it would just be a matter of time until if failed if left to operate in that temperature.On the audio front, options abound with Bluetooth, AUX, and FM transmission, and audio clarity through Bluetooth connection to the original car speakers is great. Voice commands through CarPlay work reliably, and it conveniently reads texts aloud, keeping your eyes safely on the road. I’m using the 3.5 jack to my vehicle input.Final Thought - As for usability, it’s well-suited for anyone looking to upgrade their vehicle’s infotainment and navigation without major modifications. It also allows you to utilize your phone at the same time, just be prepared for some DIY work to route the rear camera cord, and sort out the mounting options. Despite these challenges, the overall package feels well worth the effort, and has significantly enhanced my driving enjoyment having access to the big screen. Bottom line: A powerful upgrade that modernizes an older car's dashboard with a few DIY installation hurdles.

Very easy to install and works great

I ordered this add a bigger CarPlay screen with the ability to have a 4K dash cam ability as well. The mounting was easy just make sure the surface is clean and relatively flat as some dashboards have an aggressive curve to them. The Bluetooth was easy to connect and since I had a backup camera already I didn’t both hooking the up. The whole setup is great and I like the added screen size.

Responsive, Bright, and Worth Every Penny

I bought a smaller CarPlay display last year and while it worked great its biggest downside was it was pretty much unusable during the day while wearing my uv sunglasses showing just a dark screen, so I was hesitant to get this one for the same reason.This very large screen is perfectly visible while wearing sunglasses! It comes with a bracket that can be mounted with sticky tape, but I didn’t much care for that. My current display holder which locks into the CD player while won’t fit around the entire display due to the jut out with the internals and camera that stick out, I was able to clamp it to the jut out part and it holds just fine.The screen is very large so placement is key dependant on your type of vehicle to not block your view. It was easy to setup for CarPlay allowing me to use google maps and use Spotify, since I canceled Sirius xm which is originally why I got the CarPlay display. I can also screen mirror and play videos which is awesome!The responsiveness of the touch screen display is immediate and the system is easy to navigate through the various options with an always available expandable touch button. It includes a 64GB SD card so , and a backup camera. It comes with a cigarette lighter to power the unit and states that you should use the provided charger for powering but I’ve had no issues using a cigarette lighter charger that has multiple usb-A, and c slots and it has worked just fine.Overall this is a fantastic screen and well worth the money. It’s large, responsive, and easy to use. I would highly recommend it!

This thing friggen ROCKS! The screen really stands out with its crisp, vibrant display and wide viewing angles. It doesn’t block your view of the road, which is a huge plus, and the mirror link for both iOS and Android works smoothly. Wireless CarPlay make using your phone’s features safe and easy while driving, and the voice controls are responsive and clear thanks to the upgraded Bluetooth chip.The dash cam setup is a nice bonus, front 4K and rear 1080p cameras with night vision give you full coverage, and the 64GB card with loop recording means you don’t have to worry about storage. Installation is straightforward with the plug-and-play design that keeps your original radio intact, which is great for avoiding complicated setups. I got this for my son who builds race cars with his friends, and he was blown away. The screen is huge, bright, and clear — the 11.26" in-cell display looks premium and doesn’t block the view while driving. Setup was simple: plug into the cigarette lighter and go. No tearing out the dashboard or splicing wires.CarPlay and Android Auto both work wirelessly, which is a game changer. He uses it for navigation, music, and hands-free calls without any lag. The touchscreen is responsive, and the voice commands work great. It also supports Mirror Link for other apps.The built-in dash cam is next-level — full 4K resolution with a rear cam included too.
