However, it is expensive where I live ($6 and up) and I’ve noticed that the matcha quality is going down, likely due to the current shortage. I decided to try to make it at home instead and this matcha set made it easy!With the help of a TikTok video, I learned how much matcha to use, what water temperature to use, how to sift the matcha, and how to whisk. I found it to be easy and beginner-friendly with the set. Everything needed was in this set (minus the matcha, of course).The quality of the set is good. The whisk appears to be authentic and came in Japanese packaging. The stand for the whisk and chawan (aka the matcha bowl) are perfectly sized. The pour spot made it easy to make my drink. The spoon itself is made out of fairly inexpensive bamboo, but I do not think that it matters.My set is not as brightly colored as in the product photos. This is not negative; I am just noting the difference. I think it is a cute set and looks like the color of matcha.The matcha I used is not ceremonial grade, which is unnecessary unless you’re having pure matcha to drink. If you are just starting out, I recommend it. The brand is “Sencha” and it is $20ish at Costco and $30ish on Bolo for 225 servings.Overall, this matcha set met all my needs and I don’t imagine that I will ever need to upgrade unless I get seriously into expensive matcha…which no one needs to do unless they’re having straight matcha to drink. I am happy to know that this set will help me save money.The set was $30ish and the matcha was $20ish for 225 servings, so only about 20 cents (plus a lemonade packet) per serving with this setup compared to $6+ per serving at a coffee shop!NOTE: The whisk in this photo has been used and was bloomed. It will be tightly wound in the middle before being used.
