I couldn’t be happier

Look, I drive a 1974 Volkswagen Beetle. It’s a beautiful, temperamental little tin can that thinks "modern technology" means a working cigarette lighter and maybe, maybe a cassette deck if you’re feeling fancy. But then I installed this 360° Rotating Touchscreen stereo and now—how do I put this—it feels like I accidentally time-traveled and installed a NASA command center in a car powered by fairy dust and nostalgia.Let’s start with the screen. It rotates. Like a Bond villain’s secret lair. I can flip it vertically, horizontally—at this point, I’m expecting it to fold into a drone and fly away. It’s got more movement than my Beetle’s speedometer needle. People see the edge of the screen poking over my dash and I just know they imagine I have one of those fancy electric cars.Bluetooth 4.1? My Beetle didn’t even come with a clock, and now I’m out here making hands-free calls like I'm in a Tesla. The noise-canceling mic is so good it drowns out the sound of my 50-year-old engine screaming, "Why are you doing this to me!?"Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto? Oh yeah. I’ve got Spotify, Waze, and Siri running simultaneously in a car that originally came with ashtrays in the back seat. It’s like teaching a dog to play piano—and the dog’s nailing it.The backup camera works like magic. Night vision, wide angle—I can now reverse without prayer and a neighbor guiding me. That alone is worth the price of admission. I made a little mount for the camera that I bolted to my bumper.And GPS? This thing tells me about traffic and reroutes before I realize I’ve made a wrong turn. In contrast, my Beetle's original “navigation system” was a crumpled map and blind hope.Mirror link, FM/AM/RDS, movie playback… it’s a Swiss Army knife of car entertainment. I’m convinced if I press the right button, it’ll start making espresso.TL;DR: This stereo is the most advanced piece of technology in my Beetle—possibly the most advanced thing I own, period. My car may still smell like 1974, but thanks to this stereo, it sounds and feels like the future.Buy it. Your vintage car will hate you for it—but your ears, eyes, and inner tech nerd will be thrilled

Altogether I believe this unit is a great value. However, this isn't for the someone who wants a lot of volume or if you have never installed a car stereo before.Pros:- Form factor is awesome for a single DIN and you can adjust vertical or horizontal- Nice Screen and it's huge!- Android Auto- Includes Everything, backup camera, GPS, EQ, Amp outputs, internal amp, FM, USB inputs- Price ($86 at time of review)- Really good sound quality (not powerful)- Nice to have access to Android apps- Great DSP- Front, Rear, and Sub outputsCons:- Internal amplifier is very weak- Not enough instructions.- Not wireless Android AutoIf you are on a tight budget and want Android Auto and a huge screen, this may be all you.

I installed this stereo in a wake surf boat, even though it's not "marine-grade," but I have had no issues. The installation was straightforward, like any car stereo. I soldered and heat-shrunk all wiring. My setup includes a mix of six head-unit-wired speakers (using the internal amp), plus two line-out tower speakers and a subwoofer powered with an external amp.Post-installation, I fine-tuned the equalizer on the head unit - a welcome feature to adapt to the boat’s unique acoustics. Boats often require higher volume levels to overcome engine and ambient noise, and this unit handled the demand well up to about 75% volume. Beyond that, thermal protection caused occasional cutouts, likely due to the head unit powering six speakers, more than the typical four in a car, and being pushed harder to counter noise.  To address this, I adjusted the tower and subwoofer amp settings and reduced bass and treble via the equalizer, achieving excellent sound quality without additional hardware. For a long-term solution, I’ll likely add a second amplifier as powering six speakers in a noisy marine environment is demanding. I believe the internal amp would be adequate for the average automobile.The screen adapted fine when turned vertically, but I found horizontal orientation was better in my case. The 720p screen was crisp and easy to see. It detaches easily for storage if you want to pull it. My only minor gripe, consistent with another Haudio stereo I reviewed, is navigating back to CarPlay. After switching to the home screen, you must access the “Apps” menu and swipe left a screen to the “ZLink5” app - a small inconvenience compared to head units with a dedicated CarPlay icon on the home screen.I didn’t use the reverse camera, but it appears to be the standard model found in many head units - functional but nothing special. The initial boot time is slow, but it’s a one-time issue, assuming you hook up the stereo correctly. CarPlay syncs in about 5-8 seconds on subsequent uses - a bit slower than some competitors, but acceptable. A volume knob would be a nice addition, but that's just an opinion.As long as such a large screen won't cover anything important in your interior, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this.
