I had previously gotten a different brand gate that was bent and my husband had to finagle it to get it to close to be usable. I needed another because we need to put them up in various places in the home so we can keep my old dog and the new puppy separate. They are both Pomeranians but somehow she is already twice his size and I worry he's going to have a heart attack trying to go at her because he hates her. So we didn't want to have to step over it like we'd been doing because I've face planted a couple of times doing that. We also wanted to be able to roll things through and one gate we had still had a 6 inch threshold and that wouldn't work.So this one has to be screwed into the door frame or wall or whatever. It is a pretty wide gate so its weight is supported by a wheel under the end so it won't sag and pull on the hinge at the wall. The one we bought that was bent had a 1.5 inch or so threshold which works but this one has no bar across the bottom at all so there is nothing to roll over or trip over.He was very happy installing this one, mostly because nothing was bent and all of the pieces were present. It is very sturdy and I appreciate the wheel that helps support the weight of the gate which will help prevent either the hinge breaking or it pulling out of the door frame.Another plus is that the entire gate opens so if your doorway is wide, then when this is open, it is only a very few inches narrower. Most other gates have "side walls" and then the gate is only a small maybe 2 foot wide opening in the middle. Then if you have a wide doorway, the gate would still be only 2 ft wide. With this one, it can extend to about 43 inches so you would have a full 43 inches to go through, not just 2 ft. That is a much better design in my opinion.

My front door does not have a storm/screen door with it. The only reachable window on this side of the house is a very large picture window that doesn't open. (there is a door leading to the back yard on the other end, so yes, there is an emergency exit) That means if I want fresh air moving through, I have to keep my front door open. With my tiny escapist dog and often visiting enormous dog, my house often suffers from what my mom calls 'house-atosis'.So I put up one of those screen curtains to keep the bugs out, and a baby gate on the doorway. Ugh, those baby gates have a bar across the bottom and side panels so you only have about 18 to 24 inches to squeeze through. Never mind I'm fat, carrying things passed is a real P.I.T.A. plus it often would pop off because my visitors don't know how to work one.Check it out; the Furtime baby gate IS AS WIDE AS THE DOOR. You need this. The 'doorknob' is a bit different, but it swings open like a regular door, giving me ample space to waddle my humongous butt passed without knocking it off the doorframe. AND I can carry anything I need through it like a regular door! How awesome is that?And you get it perma-mounted on the frame, so no one is going to knock it off with their clumsiness. As an added bonus, this gate has a wheel on it, so long term use or undo pressure on it, isn't going to cause the gate to say or put wear on the hinges.It adjusts to your doorway. It's not too complicated to set up. ...I'm going to put one up on my back porch to keep the dogs in while I mow the lawn. Very happy with this product.

I own several pressure mounted baby/dog gates which I like because they don't require drilling for mounting. However, the pressure gates have a bottom bar that can be hard to navigate for someone using a walker and/or wheelchair which is the situation we have. I was able to replace one of my main pressure mounted gates with this Furtime sliding gate and it is so much better for someone on a walker to enter the gate. This gate is very easy to mount using the included hardware and supports multiple mounting options. This gate can accommodate widths of 29" to 43.3" and has an adjustment screw to make minor adjustments to level out the gate swing. I was unable to obtain a clean open and close operation at both the top and bottom latches (probably due to floor leveling) so I drilled out and installed a bolt with thumbscrew on both top and bottom rails which resolved my issue. This gate is very sturdy and the latch securely locks at both top and bottom.Pros: Easy to install, supports widths between 29" to 43.3", Sturdy, Locks into place, easy to open and closeCons: Installation requires drilling 4 small holes so be careful to align and mark holes before drillingI am very please with this baby/dog swing gate and recommend for anyone needing a gate that does not have the lower bar which can interfere with walker, wheelchair, dollies or strollers.

Purchased for a door way to keep my dog from going into a room that she is not allowed. The mounting hardware, or "cups" as they are referred to are bulky, but that is not the problem. The problem is the mounting holes in the cups are spaced an inch and a half apart and are horizontal, so if your door has a jam the gate will not work, especially if you are planning on closing the door at any time. I think it would work ok in a narrow hallway, or entry way. Poor design in my opinion. Note that this is installed with screws and not tension.
