Item arrived in the original box, but the matcha bowl was broken. I recommend packaging the original box in an additional box with more protection inside and a fragile sticker on the outside. Other than that, the matcha whisk and spoon are good quality bamboo. The matcha set is a good gift that has everything for a matcha lover.

This is a charming matcha set that includes all of the basics. The rustic beige color is aptly named because the set really does have a rather natural, home-spun appearance. The colors range from subtle reddish brown stripes lightening through medium tan and finally light beige shades. With darker speckles and a creamy background. I also like the simple design of the bowl with a pedestal base, straight sides, and a neat pouring spout. In contrast, the shape of the whisk stand is bulbous.The ceramic is of a good weight and thickness for a robust feel. The bowl is nicely finished and well glazed inside and out. The hollow whisk stand is similarly sturdy but isn't finished as smoothly on the inside. The whisk is nicely packaged in a plastic cylinder to protect the thin, delicate tines. The metal mesh strainer/sifter is fairly light-duty compared with several other matcha sets I have looked at, but it works well enough. A simple scoop and spoon round out the set. All of the pieces were packed in a styrofoam block and a rather generic box; the set arrived in perfect condition.The price seems reasonable and I find the set to be quite versatile. In addition to making tea (something that I am very new to) I like to use the bowl and whisk for pancakes and crepes (the bowl looks nicer than the measuring cup I usually use and the whisk looks fragile but works surprisingly well with thin batter). I will probably pick up a few more sets so I can use the bowls as prep bowls. They are more generously sized than the prep bowls I already have and I like the spouts.

This is a nice basic matcha set. It comes packaged quite well, so nothing should break during shipping. It works as expected, but it is not anything too fancy. It would probably work well for someone who is new to making their own matcha tea. It would have been nice if it included two tea cups as well.

Very nice set that includes the strainer, natural bamboo spatula and spoon, unlike some other sets out there that just have the bowl and whisk holder without even the whisk! Overall, feels like a nice-quality and unique gift. The ceramic feels good, nice beige with speckles glaze (give it character.) The whisk also adds a genuine cultural feel and is quite the piece of workmanship with its delicate yet strong bamboo curls. The only problem is there are no directions on either a sheet or on the box. Sure, you could go on this website and look it up but if you're giving it as a gift, you're not going to want your recipient to see the price. Like most of these sets, you'll need to get the matcha separately.

I’ve wanted a matcha set for ages and was so excited to find this one! It came with so many vital pieces - the scoop, press, sifter, whisk, whisk holder, and bowl. The bowl is well made - my matcha didn’t stick to the bottom and it poured out well without dripping or slopping. I’ll be using this regularly. Great quality, well packed. I highly recommend this set, especially given all the accessories it comes with!
