Overall, this kit was a major upgrade after struggling with a standard menstrual cup, primarily because my long, sharp nails made insertion really frustrating (they’re great for opening Bolo boxes, not so much for internal origami). The disc style was easier for me to wear, and the included applicator is an absolute must-have if you also like your claws. I followed the instructions to aim sort of lower/back rather than inserting "up" and pulled the applicator out part way before using the tip of it to pop the disc up behind the bone area. It is truly one of those things where you just have to bite the bullet and get messy and try it a few times lol.I watched a video online about inserting and learned about the cervix and placement, etc. (I guess its about time being late 30s, lol). I found the disc comfortable once in place. No leaks. I find I only wear this for 1-2 heavy days because then it gets so light for me that I don't need anything. The feminine wash is a nice touch, but what really sold me on the full set were the applicator, and the steamer. It gives me peace of mind knowing such an intimate item is truly sanitized before and after each use, especially since it's stored in the bathroom. There are instructions on how to trim and file the tail down if preferred, but again due to the fingernails issue, I require the tail to be accessible for easy removal, but I honestly couldn't feel it while it was in there.This disc was definitely more flexible and soft than the cup i tried previously. Overall I would say this kit is an absolute win. A little pricey, but worth it for the completeness and convenience of the kit. If you’re disc-curious or have struggled with cups, this is a thoughtfully designed bundle that addresses a lot of common barriers.

This menstrual disc kit is perfect for both first-time menstrual and long-time menstrual disc/cup users. I have been using discs for quite some time as a way to reduce waste and avoid the downsides of traditional pads/tampons, and I love this kit!The discs themselves are very comfortable to wear. They're made of a super soft medical-grade silicone that is extremely thin, but also very durable. There are two sizes to accommodate both heavy and light/medium flow days. What I really like about these discs is how they're designed to work more like a tampon, making insertion and removal so much easier than a traditional menstrual disc. The included reusable appplicator easily and comfortably places the cup where it needs to be. I have to admit I was a little bit skeptical when I first tried the applicator, because menstrual discs needs to be in place over the cervix to work correctly, and I didn't know if an applicator could place it perfectly, but it works great! This makes the Pixie cup and applicator perfect for menstruators who have used tampons and want it to be an easy switch. Removal is also very easy, thanks to the "string" and a tiny hole in the rim of the disc that prevents a suction from developing (trust me- this is important!). The only caveat I will give is that the disc applicator is quite a bit bigger than a tampon applicator, so it might not be the best for teens or menstruators that haven't used tampons before.Beyond the amazing design of the Pixie disc itself, I love that this kit comes with a countertop steam sanitizer! One of the biggest pains of using menstrual discs is sanitization. Before this kit I would typically wash my cup by hand between uses, and use boiling water to sanitize it at the end of my cycle. It was super inconvenient to boil water in the kettle, find an appropriate container, and kind of guess how long I had to leave my cup in the boiling water to get it clean. With the steamer, there's literally no guesswork- I just add a little scoop of water, put my cup in, press the button, and three minutes later my cup is sanitized! I'm now able to easily sanitize my cup every single time I use it!Besides the cups, applicator, and steamer, you get a lot of nice little bonus items with this kit, like a container of disc wash, a packet of sanitizing crystal for travel use, some wipes, and a couple of little cloth storage bags for your discs.I couldn't be more impressed with this well-thought out menstrual cup kit! If you're wanting to try zero waste periods, or already do zero-waste and want to up your game, this kit has everything you could possibly need- I would give it 10 stars if I could!

This is a very well put together kit! You get everything you need to start using a menstrual cup. There are lots of instructions and QR codes you can scan. I like that the instructions have lots of pictures too, which is helpful. I was able to use the cup easily after reviewing the instructions and sterilizing the cup in the included sterilizer. I could not feel the cup once I inserted it. Although removal and emptying can be a bit messy, creating less waste with disposable products is a good trade off.
