I don't think I have ever had a book grab me by the heart as quickly as this one did. The way Bianca writes about grief is quite simply exquisite. Yes, it's heartbreaking and hard but she doesn't rush the reader through it and soon I found myself finding the beauty in what the tragedy left behind. I especially appreciated the gentle lesson of looking for "the slivers" and how they kept appearing throughout the book.As for the actual characters, I found the FMC (MJ) to be very likeable and approachable - I could see myself in her. The MMC (Grey) is just delectable. Truly a treat for all the senses. He was a good balance of doing sweet "perfect boyfriend" material stuff while also doing his fair share of screwing things up. This kept the plot interesting and relatable.I would be remiss if I didn't give credit to two other important characters in TBBU - neither of which have many or even any speaking parts! First off, Bianca knows how to set a scene, and the town of Montauk fits so perfectly into this story. I loved getting immersed in a New England tourist town for the summer with MJ and Grey. You can practically taste the salt in the air when you're reading! Bianca also keeps you gravitating toward MJ's best friend, Olivia. These girls were soulmates, and I love it when friendships are portrayed so strongly that they equal to or even more important than romantic relationships

I was so grateful to have been given an ARC for this book - it was just what I needed! The main theme of this book is CONNECTION. The relationships among the characters are all consistently building back on the fact that we as humans are all tied together. Whether the relationship Bianca writes about is between a parent and child, best friends, lovers, or among chosen family, readers can feel the emotional pull. When she describes the deep grief a character feels, the reader immediately connects with their own loss. If she’s describing two people falling in love, the reader feels the butterflies. Once I started this book, I couldn’t wait to pick it up again!The writing flows smoothly between chapters and events, and you will feel everything. Bianca often says that she will make us cry, but then will help us patch it all up again by the end, and she’s right! My favorite part of the book is that MJ constantly talks about making sure that you tell your people how much they mean to you because no one is guaranteed time. It is a beautifully written sentiment and evident throughout the story. I also loved how real of a person MJ was; her anxieties as well as her strengths were all described so well and helped us connect with her.Bianca knocked it out of the park with this book! Don’t sleep on this story - you’ll love it!

The Breath Between Us is the perfect feel good, big feelings book for the spring and summer!This book is not just a small town beach romance. I loved the storyline about MJ and her best friend, Liv. Friendships are just as important as relationships and Bianca really showcased that! Of course I was rooting for Grey and MJ right from the beginning. They were so easy to love!

Any review that I can put into words feels inadequate on how this book made me feel. I am not a crier, but this book sparked so many emotions, I literally cried reading a book. First time ever (mind blown). The way Bianca was able to pull you into the story really felt like you were there and a part of their lives. MJ having are hard time letting people in from her experiences and learning to let people in was so relatable. Finding the slivers in life, the joy around us is a lesson anyone can benefit from. I can't say a book generally has an effect on me that lasts more than an hour, but this one is an exception. Highly recommend!

Holy hot dang. This book had me crying, swooning, kicking my feet, and crying some more. The Breath Between Us is a beautiful story about grief, love, and finding yourself… and the ending will take your breath away.Bianca has an incredible gift for drawing readers into a story, making our shared - yet often isolating - life experiences feel seen. MJ’s grief was raw, real, and deeply healing. Who knew a book could stitch together parts of you that you didn’t even realize needed mending? (And who wouldn’t fall in love with Grey Prescott??? 🪻I feel lucky to live in a world where Bianca’s stories exist.

Now that I am emotionally recovered, I have to share how much I LOVED this book. It was so well written with such eloquent character development + a storyline that will stick with you for months to come. I could not put the book down - I had to know how the story unfolded. Bianca is such an incredible author, and I look forward to more of her books!

Was super fortunate to receive an ARC copy of this book and I was thrilled after loving the author's debut novel!This book has a lot of emotions and although is a romance, is really a wonderful tell of the main character, MJ and her journey with grief, love, and achieving dreams.

Finishing reading The Breath Between Us left me absolutely speechless. The emotional roller coaster is unlike any other. Full of tears within the first few chapters, laughing at the banter, the tension between MJ & Grey, and so much more. This was a story I couldn’t put down, yet never wanted to end.This is Bianca’s second novel, and she absolutely crushed the character development and captivating story. This is a must read, and I will be forcing everyone I know to experience MJ & Grey’s story as well.
