I discovered this tripod through Drex Lee's many social channels. Everything works as described! It's compact, expands with a click of one button and the bluetooth remote worked on the first try. I plan on using it for my home cooking videos, foodie blogs and maybe a TikTok dance one day. When not in use, the boom stick easily folds back into it's original compact design.

When making a video, the only movement you want is made by your subject. Since a table or shelf is not always handy, you need this SmallRig x Drex Boom Selfie Stick ST30 Lite, 57.9” tall, Automatic Tripod Stand.Do not let the name confuse you; it is not like the selfie sticks that people hold in their hands, this is an innovation that allows you to make a video practically anywhere with this holding your camera steady. This camera holder not only safely holds your camera, it can be angled up, down, left, right or even at a slant so to capture your subject(s) at the angle you choose. And if you want to appear in a shot that begins at a distance, this tripod has a Bluetooth Relay that will start your camera as soon as you give it the signal.Setting up the camera takes mere seconds; press a button, pull up the telescopic segments at the top then push down on the sleeve to make certain it is locked. Taking it down takes only a very few seconds also, and to top it all, this device weighs under 9.8 ounces!You will be surprised at the low price the SmallRig Drex Lee Boom ST30 is sold, especially if one adds in the convenience and the ease of operation. You’ll be glad if you have yours before the next major event in your life.

Excellent quality relative to the price, great features feels much more durable that other inexpensive tripods. The only reasons I'm not giving 5 stars is for poor documentation, and 1 very minor quality problem, which is that one leg is difficult to get to latch in the closed position. You have to click it in carefully to get it to stick, usually several times. Otherwise, the general build quality and feature set are outstanding relative to the price. The drop to open tripod feature is just fun, faster than others to deploy, so you can get shots quickly when needed. You can probably get a sturdier unit without the very minor flaw, and better documentation, but it would cost 3-5x as much, and possibly more. I'm by no means a tripod expert, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to find a lot if the ones costing 3-5x as much didn't have the build quality and features this one has, tho many of those much more expensive ones probably have a hot shoe, which might be useful for some folk, and they'd likely have better documentation...

This Smallrig tripod selfie stick is my new favorite phone accessory for mobile photography. It's super easy to use, sturdy, and functional.I'm a huge fan of the bump button on the base of this unit, which is how you convert it from a stick to a tripod. Bump the bottom and the three legs pop out. I really like that the mechanism for the legs does not change the height of the unit, they expand and contract perfectly.The stick part is great, it telescopes a long way with lots of segments. At the top is an affixed phone clamp that swivels cleanly, and holds well. On top of the clamp is a cold shoe, which is super helpful for accessories. Or, in my case, I've affixed a Smallrig magnetic phone mount to take ease of use to new levels.On the negative side, I almost always pinch my hands when closing the tripod legs. I grab around it with a fist and it pinches my palm every time. I have to close it with care. Though, it closes easy, so this isn't a deal breaker.Overall, this is one of the most functional and practical phone tripods I've ever used, I think it's a really good value.

This is a compact stand with a lot of flexibility. The tripod legs lock into place when closed. Pressing the release button on the bottom allows the three 8 inch feet to extend outward, providing a stable base. The spring tension phone holder is padded with what feels like silicone. The vertical height uses a telescoping action to be useful as a floor or table top height extension. Above the phone holder there's a cold shoe, i.e. a molded plastic slot. I purchased a pair of adapters which convert the shoe to a 1/4 inch screw stud. With this arrangement I can easily adjust my Garmin chronograph to a bench-rest or standing position. When collapsed, the stand is roughly an inch and a quarter, by 12 inches long. That fits in the range bag with little additional weight. Today wasn't exceptionally windy but if it were, I could have easily rested a bag over one of the legs for stability.

Plastic construction, it’s not “one touch” to deploy, first you pull out the telescoping part with a decent amount of force, then you press the base on a surface and it pops open.When you extend this it’s clear how poor the construction is, when it’s compact it feels great, but as you extend the risers with your arms, you need to pull straight because the flimsy risers will bend. With regular use I can see this failing.Once open this tripod is far from stable, it sways with even the lightest touch, which is probably why there is a remote included. The remote can be easily lost because it’s barely held in place.

One of my favorite brands honestly. This is another solid product from small rig. I love the small attached remote it comes it. Super convenient so you will never loose it. Das Stativ lässt sich mit einem Knopfdruck aufstellen, steht stabil und fühlt sich insgesamt hochwertig an. Auch bei voller Auszugslänge bleibt alles erstaunlich standfest. Das Teil ist durchdacht und macht sowohl im Alltag als auch auf Reisen oder bei Vlogs eine richtig gute Figur. Die Kombination aus Funktion, Verarbeitung und dem kompakten Format macht es für mich zu einem Gadget, das man einfach gerne dabeihat. Für den aufgerufenen Preis bekommt man hier wirklich einiges geboten - Preis-Leistung passt absolut.
Impressive height
So easy to use, and has a nice weight to the centre bottom so balances your phone without tipping over. Lets you rotate your phone vertically and horizontal. It also comes with trigger remote so you can get group shots without having to set a timer and running into the frame instead.
Multi Funktional und praktisch
Eigentlich war ich immer überzeugt, so etwas wie einen Selfie Stick nicht zu brauchen. Aber nachdem ich auf social media nun mehr unterwegs bin und content produziere, war es unablässig. Genial finde ich, die multi Funktion. Ich kann es als einfachen Selfie Stick nutzen, oder aufstellen und überall platzieren, wo ich es brauche.Es wirkt robust und tatsächlich etwas schwerer als erwartet.Es gab eine kurze Fummelei, da ich den Stab nicht ausziehen konnte, hierbei würde ich mir eine etwas detailliertere Anleitung wünschen. Aber wenn man den Dreh raus hat, ist es ein perfektes Gadget, dass ich im social media Alltag nicht mehr missen möchte.

This phone tripod/selfie stick looks and feels decent quality, while being lightweight. It generally works well, with a good range of adjustment and plenty of length. The removable Bluetooth remote control works well too, allowing you to take your shot easily, even when the stick is fully extended or in tripod mode.Overall a good product that does it’s job well.
