5.0 out of 5 stars Good for Baking

They are about the size of chickpeas and come in a resealable bag. I added them to cookies and they melted well. The flavor is sweet but not very strong. When I tried melting them for a sauce, the texture turned out a little grainy. They work best mixed into baked goods or eaten as a quick snack.
4.0 out of 5 stars Didn't melt in hot summer weather
Very good flavor, but expected it to be softer
3.0 out of 5 stars 80s Flashback
If you were a kid in the 80s you probably remember big bins of candy you could buy at the grocery store by the piece or by the pound. The caramels in those bins is what these remind me of. Slightly waxy at first then a chewy mouthful of sugar. Back in those days it was about 3 cents for a piece of candy. Nothing gourmet tasting or fancy, pretty much just just sugar. That's what you have here as well. Which the first 3 ingredients in these "caramel bits" are Sugar, Corn Syrup and Liquid sugar so that's basically what they are...sugar. I tried them cooked in pancakes and they stuck in my teeth way too much to want to bake them in to anything else. Gave a handful to my teenager. He stuck the whole handful in his mouth at once then spit it out because he couldn't chew that much at once because it was quickly too sticky. So, basically, if you want some nostalgic flavored chewy sugar you're all set but don't expect gourmet quality.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great as mix-ins for yogurt!
These caramel balls are about the size of a cooked chickpea, and have a similar firmness. I ordered these with the intent of using them as mix-ins for greek yogurt, and they work perfectly for that - a nice hint of caramel flavour without being too hard or chewy. They taste like basic milk caramel, which isn't surprising - they have roughly the same ingredients list as other common milk caramel brands. The only real difference I noticed is that Kidu Pantry uses skim milk, while the other "main brand" uses buttermilk. Accordingly, they Kidu caramels seem to be sliiightly less calories per gram, but not really enough to worry about either way.Since they do get a little melty when exposed to heat, I think these would also work nicely in baked goods or as a mix-in for oatmeal. They're definitely nice, multipurpose little treats!
4.0 out of 5 stars Caramel bits for baking
This is a 1 lb resealable zip top bulk package of caramel bits for baking, from Kidu. It arrived fresh and sealed. Although these are bulk and unbranded, they look exactly like the caramel bits from the big, big national brand that starts with a K, and the ingredients list is also identical to theirs, so these are probably that brand, in bulk packaging. These taste just like the square individually wrapped caramels you probably grew up with, but in a smaller size. They are soft and chewy, with a mild caramel flavor. I added a couple of big handfuls to a batch of cookies I was making and they made tasty, melty, chewy caramel spots in the cookies. My spouse and I both thought these bits were a nice addition for sweet baked treats. The only real issue with these as I see it is that at the current price of $14.99 for the 1 lb bag, I don't think they're a great value compared to other similar products.
5.0 out of 5 stars great to eat right out of the bag
The caramel bits come in a nice plastic resealable bag. The bits have a soft chewy texture. The bits are sized and look like chic peas. When I added the bits to stuff like cookies, the caramel flavor is on the light side. I prefer to eat the caramel bits straight out of the bag as a standalone snack because the caramel flavor is stronger and the bits have a nice texture. Despite containing so much sugar, the bits are not sickening sweet.
1.0 out of 5 stars Don’t buy
Not what I expected. These beebee sized balls are foul tasting with a hint of caramel.
2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it!
Not caramel flavor at all. Tasteless but melts well so it earned one star for that.
