Lightyears better than my old Roombas! Fast and accurate initial floor mapping. Great app that shows real-time status map of progress on vac/mop jobs. Good job vacuuming and mopping. Nice that it cleans the mop-head every so often to keep from just pushing dirt around. Well worth it!

Great vacuum. !!!! Worth every penny. I owned a iRobot j6 I had to babysit all the time.Owning the Dreame L40s Ultra AE Vacuum is like having someone vacuum my home then leave when done.

I studied options for over a month and chose the L40 Ultra AE over models from Roborock and Eufy. I wanted so much to like this as I don’t like to mop or vacuum and have two large dogs. Set up was easy and mapping was quick and seemed accurate. The problem is it doesn’t work well and, at times, it doesn’t work at all.I have an older Eufy vacuum only robot with 4000 PA and it picks up 2-3 times the dog hair as this device. Also the mopping was very poor. When one mop pad reaches out, there is a 3-4 inch area that is not mopped, as sometimes the mop pad would remain extended. I had it cleaning an area that is less than 1000 sq. ft. and it would work for an hour or so and need to recharge for 3-4 hours before completing the job. Most of the time it would just spin in one spot. It would do parts of a room and move on to the next without finishing the first room.Finally, after the fourth day, when it went back to the base, it would reach out one of the mop pads and not secure into the base without my assistance.Overall a very poor vacuum and mopping function that was equally bad. I returned it for a refund.

I’ve owned several Roombas… but this little guy is next level. I say this with all sincerity, and I rarely ever review purchases, that this could be my favorite purchase in many years. It’s smart in the best way possible, I never need to babysit it, the app is intuitive and high level functional. And mostly it does a great job, like shockingly great. Far above my low bar expectations. Expensive? maybe.. but coming home to spotless floors everyday is worth the money. One side anecdote, as I was unboxing it, turned it on just to get things rolling, I hadn’t even put it on the base yet, opened the app and the little guy had already LIDAR mapped the part of my house it had seen immediately after power on, amazing.

⭐️For $1,099, I expected far more from a “premium” robot vacuum.Safety: Within the first week, it actually fell down my staircase — about 15 steps, a 5-foot drop — something no other robot vacuum (including Roombas I’ve owned for 5+ years in the same house) has ever done. This is a huge red flag and left both my disabled mother and my pets shaken.Detergent system: Constantly requests refills even when the 500 mL tank is full. Very frustrating.Cleaning performance: Even in deep-clean mode, it leaves debris scattered, like the job was half-done. Floors never look like they were thoroughly cleaned.App experience: I personally enjoy the options and pet-view camera, but I can see many users finding the toggles confusing. It’s not as intuitive as it should be for a $1,000-class product.Mapping/Navigation: Despite advanced LiDAR, it struggles with multiple maps (upstairs vs. downstairs). Runs often cancel themselves, and it sometimes loses its own location.✅ Positives: Strong battery life, sleek build, and the pet-view camera is genuinely fun.❌ But: Between the serious safety hazard, inconsistent cleaning, and navigation issues, this feels more like a beta product than a polished premium model.

This thing is pretty sufficient. My floors are notably cleaner than with the older model roombas. We have 2 large breed dogs, and 2 kids.The headlights aren't really necessary...can sometimes startle you, if you're in a dark room and all of a sudden see a big shadow on the wall LOL.Price has dropped to under $700 at time of review, which I think is a good value for what this does.Set up was easy and it has definitely been a time and sanity saver by taking care of the mess while we're at work. As far as intelligence, it's pretty spot on with mapping and navigating obsticles (like our dog laying in the middle of the floor.) If it encounters an obsticle, it drops the mop pads to prevent them from getting destroyed.Only downside is the dirty water tank. That thing smells SO BADLY! I mean, on the one hand, that means that it's working. but, the downside is that after a day or 2 it starts getting mildew and moldy.The firmware update is that it now tells you to empty the dirty water tank as soon as it's done cleaning....but why is it a several gallon large tank then. LOL. We've tried adding vinegar to it to keep it from molding, but nothing works.So, just empty it frequently.
A useful and convenient cleaning robot
The Dreame L40s Ultra AE is a powerful and convenient robot cleaning tool. It is a great addition to my home. Setup took just minutes, and the app makes mapping and scheduling simple. The mapping feels accurate, and the robot moves smoothly without getting stuck or confused. Suction is strong enough on both hard floors and carpets, and the dual spinning mops work great with noticeably clean floors. The base station really adds to the convenience. It empties the dust bin, washes and dries the mop pads. The robot keeps my home clean automatically, free me from the labor work and saves me time. It’s really useful for me.
So Good I Had to Get a Second One
This robot vacuum is amazing! It cleans so thoroughly with its powerful suction and the mop feature works better than I expected. The self-cleaning station makes everything super convenient, so I don’t have to deal with dirty water or tangled hair.I was so impressed with how well it works in my home that I immediately bought another one for my parents. They love it too, and it has really cut down the amount of time we all spend on cleaning.
Impressive cleaning on carpets, needs improvement on docking design
This robot vacuum’s obstacle avoidance is much better than the one I used before, and the suction power is impressively strong. It even manages to pull up dog hair from my carpets, which is something most vacuums struggle with. I also like that it uses a built-in light in darker areas, which seems to make its cleaning path more precise.That said, I did notice one issue that could be improved. My entire floor is carpeted, and at first, I didn’t attach the two mop pads at the back. Without the mop pads installed, the vacuum couldn’t return to its base station at all. I had to put the mop pads on before it would dock properly. Since my floors are carpet, this isn’t very practical. It would be much better if the vacuum could return to the base station even without the mop pads attached.
High value for money
The media could not be loaded. The package is heavy and full of stuffs thus better 2 ppl to carry. It created the map while cleaning at the time for 1st time. It’s pretty quiet (not scary to pets at all) with such high power compared with my old ones. Also, it lights up in the dark area(nice for me to check the cleanness as well).With the multiple purpose cleaner filled, my wood floor looks even shinier. Just 1 thing to mention, the QR code to connect is located within the inner side of the robot cover which’s not so convenient to scan while the robot is in the station for 1st time. As long as connected, it’s all good. Overall did a great job that saves my life and make it possible to clean the hard to reach area like under table, cabinet and beds. Go for it, if you’re looking for high value mop + vacuum robot.
The best robot I used!
The media could not be loaded. This is my first robot vacuum, and I’m seriously impressed after a week of use! Setup was super easy, and it leaves my floors spotless every time. It handles pet hair really well — perfect for homes with furry friends. The base station does a great job cleaning itself and runs pretty quietly. I’m also surprised by how well it gets into corners and how easy it is to set up different zones and floors. Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. Solid 5 stars!
