My backyard has a lot of trees and flowers, so leaves and debris constantly fall into the pool. To keep the surface clean, I bought a Betta skimmer robot that floats and cleans the top of the water. It works great—but my previous corded pool cleaner would constantly get its cable tangled with the Betta, jamming it or pulling it off course. I had to untangle the cord almost every day after cleaning.That’s actually a big reason why I decided to try the Dreame Z1 Pro wireless pool robot—and I’m so glad I did.First of all, no more cord, which means my Betta can work freely, and I don’t have to babysit the pool equipment anymore. That alone saved me a lot of hassle.The Z1 Pro itself is a big upgrade. It looks and feels high-end—sturdy construction, solid weight, and not cheap plastic. It’s a little bigger than my old cleaner, but the cleaning brush is wider and more powerful, so it gets the job done faster. My pool has several steps, and my old robot would often get stuck on them. This one hasn’t gotten stuck once, even on the steps or uneven areas.What I really like are the smart cleaning modes. Besides the standard full-clean mode, it also has:• a mode for just cleaning the pool bottom,• a wall-only cleaning mode,• and even a special mode for cleaning the waterline area—which is super useful since that’s where dirt and scum tend to build up.It connects to WiFi, and the mobile app is easy to use. You can choose modes and track cleaning status right from your phone.Another small detail I love: the filter basket is one large, easy-to-remove piece. After cleaning, I just pull it out and rinse. My old robot had two tiny baskets you had to unclip and open—kind of a pain.Now, for the downsides:• Because it’s wireless, you do have to take it out and charge it after each cleaning. It’s not fully “set-and-forget” like a corded one with scheduled runs.• It’s also a bit heavy, especially right after a cleaning cycle when there’s still water inside. Lifting it out of the pool takes a bit of effort.That said, the freedom from cords, the smarter cleaning, and the overall cleaning performance make this absolutely worth it for me. I’ve been using the Dreame Z1 Pro for about a month now, and it has completely changed the way I take care of my pool. I was honestly a bit skeptical at first, but this thing delivers.Setup was super simple charge it, drop it in the pool, and it gets to work right away. I love that I don’t have to mess with hoses or pumps anymore. The Z1 Pro navigates the pool efficiently and actually climbs the walls and waterline, which my old pressure cleaner couldn’t do.What impressed me the most is how quiet it is. I can let it run while we’re hanging out in the backyard, and we barely hear a thing. It also picks up everything leaves, sand, dirt, even some small pebbles. The suction is no joke.The filter basket is easy to remove and rinse out, though I do wish it were just a little bigger (we get a lot of leaves). Still, emptying it once isn’t a big deal. Not sure yet.App nags every time to sign up for promotions.On par with replaced Hayward Tigershark qc wired unit (good riddance!), which worked well but feels like 1990s engineering. required constant repairs, relentlessly fiddly and their warranty was useless.

Right now, I am extremely disappointed in the Dreame pool cleaner. I've had the product for 8-9 days and I tried to get it going the first day. There was a problem with linking my phone to the robotic pool cleaner. I've made 3 calls to CS and sent multiple emails. This seems like it should be a pretty easy fix, but they are saying it is hard to know what the issue is. I will be sending it back by weeks end, if there isn't some resolution.

Pros: suction is way more powerful than most or all other cleaners, the filter basket is big and easy to remove on top and easy to clean, the scrub brushes are strong and get all the gunk up, the remote is a great asset, the app makes it easy to see what’s going on, it runs so quietly and smoothly and love its cordless. Very easy to set up and use.Cons: takes 5 hours to charge, can’t do the floor and walls of my standard 20x40 ft pool on one charge,Overall: it’s worth it and a great pool cleaner

There's a mandatory firmware update after your robot is connected to the app.We got the Dreame Z1 Pro pool cleaning robot for the family, and I got super impressed with its performance, its awesome build quality and easy to use. The Z1 Pro made the cleaning pool an easy task, and pretty much all I need to do is recharge it after using it 2-3 times, clean the bin and spot check after the cleaning. The initial setup takes a bit of time due to our mesh network at home does not have the option to enable the 2.4 GHz band easily in the app. I finally got the Z1 Pro to connect to my router after doing it through my router's dedicated "myrouter" web page (linksys, why???). Maybe Dreame can also implement dual-band wifi in the future pool cleaning robots.It is recommended to charge your robot first. Our robot had only 27% charged after we unboxed it. Once it is connected to my 2.4GHz network, the rest is pretty much automatic. There was a mandatory firmware update to be done before using the robot.Once we got beyond the setup phase, it was very fun to watch the robot doing its thing in our oval-shaped inground pool. The mapping takes some time to do, like our Dreame home robot vacuum. We just use the automatic cleaning mode, and the whole process to clean our pool took somewhere 1 h 20 m. It spent a bit more time on the floor area due to the irregular shape of the floor and the stairs. The waterlines were removed on the edge of the pool, but the curvy lines were somewhat missed and had to be cleaned manually after 2nd attempt. In addition, the included remote control is a nice addition since all the pool cleaning robots on the market cannot be controlled underwater. Therefore, I like the idea of the remote control, but you have to understand this remote will only work if you point it at the robot above the water, since it uses the infrared technology (again, no wifi and Bluetooth work underwater, reliability).Overall, we enjoyed using the Dreame Z1 Pro Pool side cleaning robot. We are still exploring this robot, but it is doing a pretty good job for now and saving us time.
Several unique features save time and effort for the pool owner
Although this is the only pool cleaning model available from the parent brand, this is the most current 2025 release. The company was established in 2017 and focuses all R&D and product lines in the robotic cleaning space. Although this robot shares many engineering and function capabilities with other similarly priced pool vacuums, this machine features several unique attributes rarely found on others.Most of the technical specifications for this pool cleaner, such as battery capacity, are on par with similarly priced units. This robot also take credit for best in class suction power with purported 8000 GPH capabilities. Overall weight is already slightly heavier than most similar units, and the almost 40 pound mass will increase further when the unit is pulled out of the pool and the filter remains filled with collected water.This is the only high end pool robot known to this reviewer that features remote control capabilities in addition to smart phone operation. Although no IP waterproof rating is provided for the remote, the look and feel is reassuringly robust and should be capable of shock protection from accidental drops on concrete pool patios, and possible water repelling capabilities suitable for an accidental drop into the pool.The role of the remote control is made even more important by the lack of a parking/docking station for this device. The robot lacks smart phone app controls when underwater, leaving the remote control as the only control method if any changes or deviations from the pre-programmed routine are desired.There are 3 items not offered by the designers of this robot that would be appreciated by this reviewer. The first item would be IP waterproof rating certification, with a desired score of 68 or higher. The second item would be a docking station that places the unit in the proper upright position for ease of handling, filter cleaning, recharging, etc. Most peer units offer automatic charging when a pool robot is placed in the dock, however this machine is charged using a traditional cable plug-in.The final item of note is the current lack of surface skimming cleaning capabilities. This item is especially important for pools located in vegetation intensive or windy environments. Lack of this feature means that manual service cleaning with a traditional long handle screening, or similar device, will be required.The verdict:The DREAME brand Z1 Pro cordless robotic pool vacuum cleaner can save valuable personal time and energy required for pool cleaning activities, while simultaneously delivering improved pool cleanliness appreciated by all pool users. An overall product score of 4/5 is assigned. For those who have access to delivery/pickup in the US, this machine can be purchased for approximately CAD $700 less for only US $1100 from either the parent company or Bolo.com as this review was written on May 21, 2025.
Effective and Efficient Thorough Wireless Robot Pool Cleaner
My experience with pool cleaners is still limited as I'm new to having a pool, but so far my experience with this one has been stellar. I have tried some less high end vac models that work fine, but they are all limited in some way. This one is pricey but seems to deliver on all the shortcomings of the others.The AI mapping of this one is one of the most impressive parts to me. So this is like a floor robovacuum except for your pool, so it works the same way in theory. It kind of goes in random directions (seemingly) until it maps the whole area. But this also climbs the walls of the pool to cover that and it is so much more efficient than any home robot vacuum I've had. It finished my ~700 sqft pool in about 2.5 hours or so, which is great. It says it can cover up to 2160sqft, but obviously I can't confirm that myself. It did still have charge when it finished mine, but I charge it back to full before every clean anyway.The charger is a simple magnetic connector rather than a docking station, so it kind of takes up less room overall this way and can fit in tighter spaces for storage. The connector is nice and strong and durable, and it charges quickly and effectively.The suction and grip of the tracks are great, as it moves smoothly and without any apparent struggle from floor to walls or up the slope from deep to shallow. It didn't get caught or stuck on anything as it went, and it left my pool very clean and clear. My pool wasn't a swampy mess to start, granted, so if you have a super deep clean to do you may need more than one run of a device like this (or any device, I imagine, really). The catch bin it has is decently sized, catches everything I really need, and most importantly, it is super easy to clean. I haven't had to fiddle with it or pluck things out of tiny holes or scrub or anything, and I am very pleased with that. The most annoying thing is cleaning up something that is meant to clean for you.This model also comes with a remote to control the bot from outside the pool. You can set it to spot clean or manually move it around or else tell it to come back to the edge of the pool to remove it. This works really well actually. The bot doesn't seem to have any issue "hearing" the remote commands even when under water. It also has an app connection option so you can control things from your phone, if you prefer, though you should use the 2.4GHz WiFi for that. This works quite well too, so there are options depending on needs or preferences.It also has a 3-year warranty which is reassuring in case it runs into issues months from now, and given that this is a pricey device, that helps with the investment significantly. Overall, if you're in the market for a quality wireless robot pool cleaner, then this is a great high end option.

The Dreame z1 pro is a very robust, heavy duty robot pool vacuum that works exceptionally well for above ground pools, as well as inground. With very precise, easy selective programming for consistent cleaning of your pool. A very simple, straightforward design, that enables you to perform regular intervals of tasks for walls, floors, skim line and spot/hunt vacuum, with a quick, easy to program design. Breaking the cleaning up into intermittent semi daily, hourly, or however long you like between.The battery has excellent power capacity. With an average 18x24 oval being easily cpleted within the full power timeframe. As well as having the ability to remain asleep on the bottom of the pool until required. It can also provide near instant response to the included remote control. Whereas you point and shoot for it to capture particles you see, before returning back to its rest state. A very unique and useful feature for random spot cleaning of bottom, sides or skim line.The cleaning of the robot is also quick and easy. With a quick access to the main filter basket. And a no nonsense fine particular filter screen that traps extremely fine material. So that even yards with several young feat getting grass or sand in the pool is no headache. Can be cleaned and reset in under a minute with one hand. The relatively light vac can be operated and serviced by even a novice pool person. And it makes having a pool, alot less work. And alot more enjoyable. An actual Dreame to use. LolIt really is a great pool vacuum. And I feel confident of its quality holding well for several long seasons. Am excellent value for the level of quality and price point.,
Doesn't map at all, clean endlessly at the same spot
I tried multiple mode , it never created a map in my kidney pool. It cleans random often passing at the same place over and over , doesn't seem to suck much sand too and my walls are still full of green alguae spot ...

The initial setup takes a bit of time due to our mesh network at home does not have the option to enable the 2.4 GHz band easily in the app. I finally got the Z1 Pro to connect to my router after doing it through my router's dedicated "myrouter" web page (linksys, why???). Maybe Dreame can also implement dual-band wifi in the future pool cleaning robots.It is recommended to charge your robot first. Our robot had only 27% charged after we unboxed it. Once it is connected to my 2.4GHz network, the rest is pretty much automatic. There was a mandatory firmware update to be done before using the robot.Once we got beyond the setup phase, it was very fun to watch the robot doing its thing in our oval-shaped inground pool. The mapping takes some time to do, like our Dreame home robot vacuum. We just use the automatic cleaning mode, and the whole process to clean our pool took somewhere 1 h 20 m. It spent a bit more time on the floor area due to the irregular shape of the floor and the stairs. The waterlines were removed on the edge of the pool, but the curvy lines were somewhat missed and had to be cleaned manually after 2nd attempt. In addition, the included remote control is a nice addition since all the pool cleaning robots on the market cannot be controlled underwater. Therefore, I like the idea of the remote control, but you have to understand this remote will only work if you point it at the robot above the water, since it uses the infrared technology (again, no wifi and Bluetooth work underwater, reliability).Overall, we enjoyed using the Dreame Z1 Pro Pool side cleaning robot. We are still exploring this robot, but it is doing a pretty good job for now and saving us time.
Several unique features save time and effort for the pool owner
Although this is the only pool cleaning model available from the parent brand, this is the most current 2025 release. The company was established in 2017 and focuses all R&D and product lines in the robotic cleaning space. Although this robot shares many engineering and function capabilities with other similarly priced pool vacuums, this machine features several unique attributes rarely found on others.Most of the technical specifications for this pool cleaner, such as battery capacity, are on par with similarly priced units. This robot also take credit for best in class suction power with purported 8000 GPH capabilities. Overall weight is already slightly heavier than most similar units, and the almost 40 pound mass will increase further when the unit is pulled out of the pool and the filter remains filled with collected water.This is the only high end pool robot known to this reviewer that features remote control capabilities in addition to smart phone operation. Although no IP waterproof rating is provided for the remote, the look and feel is reassuringly robust and should be capable of shock protection from accidental drops on concrete pool patios, and possible water repelling capabilities suitable for an accidental drop into the pool.The role of the remote control is made even more important by the lack of a parking/docking station for this device. The robot lacks smart phone app controls when underwater, leaving the remote control as the only control method if any changes or deviations from the pre-programmed routine are desired.There are 3 items not offered by the designers of this robot that would be appreciated by this reviewer. The first item would be IP waterproof rating certification, with a desired score of 68 or higher. The second item would be a docking station that places the unit in the proper upright position for ease of handling, filter cleaning, recharging, etc. Most peer units offer automatic charging when a pool robot is placed in the dock, however this machine is charged using a traditional cable plug-in.The final item of note is the current lack of surface skimming cleaning capabilities. This item is especially important for pools located in vegetation intensive or windy environments. Lack of this feature means that manual service cleaning with a traditional long handle screening, or similar device, will be required.The verdict:The DREAME brand Z1 Pro cordless robotic pool vacuum cleaner can save valuable personal time and energy required for pool cleaning activities, while simultaneously delivering improved pool cleanliness appreciated by all pool users. An overall product score of 4/5 is assigned. For those who have access to delivery/pickup in the US, this machine can be purchased for approximately CAD $700 less for only US $1100 from either the parent company or Bolo.com as this review was written on May 21, 2025.
Effective and Efficient Thorough Wireless Robot Pool Cleaner
My experience with pool cleaners is still limited as I'm new to having a pool, but so far my experience with this one has been stellar. I have tried some less high end vac models that work fine, but they are all limited in some way. This one is pricey but seems to deliver on all the shortcomings of the others.The AI mapping of this one is one of the most impressive parts to me. So this is like a floor robovacuum except for your pool, so it works the same way in theory. It kind of goes in random directions (seemingly) until it maps the whole area. But this also climbs the walls of the pool to cover that and it is so much more efficient than any home robot vacuum I've had. It finished my ~700 sqft pool in about 2.5 hours or so, which is great. It says it can cover up to 2160sqft, but obviously I can't confirm that myself. It did still have charge when it finished mine, but I charge it back to full before every clean anyway.The charger is a simple magnetic connector rather than a docking station, so it kind of takes up less room overall this way and can fit in tighter spaces for storage. The connector is nice and strong and durable, and it charges quickly and effectively.The suction and grip of the tracks are great, as it moves smoothly and without any apparent struggle from floor to walls or up the slope from deep to shallow. It didn't get caught or stuck on anything as it went, and it left my pool very clean and clear. My pool wasn't a swampy mess to start, granted, so if you have a super deep clean to do you may need more than one run of a device like this (or any device, I imagine, really). The catch bin it has is decently sized, catches everything I really need, and most importantly, it is super easy to clean. I haven't had to fiddle with it or pluck things out of tiny holes or scrub or anything, and I am very pleased with that. The most annoying thing is cleaning up something that is meant to clean for you.This model also comes with a remote to control the bot from outside the pool. You can set it to spot clean or manually move it around or else tell it to come back to the edge of the pool to remove it. This works really well actually. The bot doesn't seem to have any issue "hearing" the remote commands even when under water. It also has an app connection option so you can control things from your phone, if you prefer, though you should use the 2.4GHz WiFi for that. This works quite well too, so there are options depending on needs or preferences.It also has a 3-year warranty which is reassuring in case it runs into issues months from now, and given that this is a pricey device, that helps with the investment significantly. Overall, if you're in the market for a quality wireless robot pool cleaner, then this is a great high end option.

The Dreame z1 pro is a very robust, heavy duty robot pool vacuum that works exceptionally well for above ground pools, as well as inground. With very precise, easy selective programming for consistent cleaning of your pool. A very simple, straightforward design, that enables you to perform regular intervals of tasks for walls, floors, skim line and spot/hunt vacuum, with a quick, easy to program design. Breaking the cleaning up into intermittent semi daily, hourly, or however long you like between.The battery has excellent power capacity. With an average 18x24 oval being easily cpleted within the full power timeframe. As well as having the ability to remain asleep on the bottom of the pool until required. It can also provide near instant response to the included remote control. Whereas you point and shoot for it to capture particles you see, before returning back to its rest state. A very unique and useful feature for random spot cleaning of bottom, sides or skim line.The cleaning of the robot is also quick and easy. With a quick access to the main filter basket. And a no nonsense fine particular filter screen that traps extremely fine material. So that even yards with several young feat getting grass or sand in the pool is no headache. Can be cleaned and reset in under a minute with one hand. The relatively light vac can be operated and serviced by even a novice pool person. And it makes having a pool, alot less work. And alot more enjoyable. An actual Dreame to use. LolIt really is a great pool vacuum. And I feel confident of its quality holding well for several long seasons. Am excellent value for the level of quality and price point.,
Doesn't map at all, clean endlessly at the same spot
I tried multiple mode , it never created a map in my kidney pool. It cleans random often passing at the same place over and over , doesn't seem to suck much sand too and my walls are still full of green alguae spot ...
