5.0 out of 5 stars Erica Meltzer, The Critical Reader, is the bomb when it comes to SAT Reading and Vocab Books
Previous reviewer sounds like a disgruntled teenager unhappy with his SAT score. The changes to Meltzer's updated version of SAT Vocabulary book are significantly more substantial than those to the grammar and reading books. It has been completely reorganized, and includes more than five new chapters, with detailed definitions of more than 250 College Board favorite words, plus many new exercises to practice applying vocabulary to test-style contexts. The author knows her way around the SAT and has familiarity with previous SAT tests. I have absolute confidence in her. Read her bio. Use her other offerings. I find her Complete Guide to SAT Reading easy to teach from, and very beneficial to my students.

I took the March 2025 SAT. I just got my scores and I got cooked. The Vocabulary on my second module was impossible. I ordered a copy of SAT Vocabulary hoping it would help me when I take the May SAT. I don't think it will. The book features 300 words. I figured many of them would have been on my March SAT. They weren't - zero! I asked my friend to take a look. She has a great memory and said that well CORROBORATE was on her test. So that's it. One more thing - the 27.95 price for this book is exorbitant! So count me VERY DISAPPOINTED!
