I carefully unfolded one and it is plenty big enough to wrap around an adult if needed (think gasoline fire / car accident). The material feels thick and high quality, but it's hard to say if it's thick / durable enough without actually putting out a fire with it... but they seem up to the task. The heat resistant gloves are a nice addition, but I probably won't have time to put these on in a pinch so instead I use these as hot mitts around the house which is some nice added functionality.

I am deathly afraid of fires and am a huge proponent of fire blankets in all the places most likely to have a fire break out. These four smaller sized fiberglass fire blankets come with a pair of heavy duty insulated gloves to protect your hands from the fire blanket material. I appreciate the fact that each fire blanket comes with an adhesive hook to hang them up in convenient places. Having four of the blankets means I’ve got enough blankets to have one next to the kitchen, each of our bedrooms, and the dryer.

While thankfully I’ve yet to have an incident requiring me to use the blankets my fiancé did have a cooking issue and no hot pad so he put these on and he said they were amazing. No damage to him or the gloves.1. The kit came with 4 blankets which could put out a fire quickly2. It also came with 4 adhesive hooks so there isn’t any hunting about while a fire is burning- you change them in easily accessible places and where fires are most likely3. The gloves are an incredible bonus- we don’t intend on using them daily- but will keep them in an easily accessible place so that we can tun knobs if need be without burning ourselvesAbout four months ago there was a house a block over from ours that burned enough to have four surrounding cities called out to help and one person did not survive and others were severely injured as were their beloved pets.I also plan on buying a couple more items “in case” but this high quality kit seems like something every family should have on hand and I would order kits for my family as well.

So I haven't quite "used" my blankets yet, so all I can speak to is just a physical assessment.Lets start off with the interesting:So these are supposed to be fire resistant right? Short of starting a fire and planning to smother it, I decided to take a lighter to both the glove and the blanket for 10 seconds each. What happened? Absolutely nothing, except a bit of soot on each. The blanket definitely feels like a fiberglass blanket. The glove? I have no idea what it's made out of but it doesn't burn easily. At the very least I don't think this product is a fraud (I'm wary of non US manufacturered safety devices).I really like that it has the "pull to use" tab. It's standard on all of these fire blanket type things, but I still like that this has it.I have one mounted in my 3d printer room and one next to a slightly dodgey diy solar system. It may not be a good chemical fire extinguisher, but I don't have to worry about it expiring and hopefully it'll contain and smother the fire!So long as the bag it's in doesn't disintegrate, I'd definitely trust the blanket inside to do it's job. I've only done a little lighter test, so at least we can it's flame resistant. I say give this a try as a backup to a fire extinguisher! Definitely better to hang around with you than nothing!

Fire blankets are an essential part of a home safety program and should be kept in conjunction with properly stored and inspected fire extinguishers. The blankets are in high quality storage bags with convenient pull tabs so there's no fumbling around in the event of a fire. There's no learning curve and the idea is simple, pull the tabs to remove the blanket, put the blanket on the fire. These are fantastic in the kitchen for dealing with stovetop fires or in the garage for small fires related to solvents or accelerants. They're made to hang on the wall out of the way but be accessible at all times. I would give these five stars if the adhesive hooks they came with were better. Each one fell of the wall after twelve hours or so. I had meticulously prepared the surface before adhering the hook, but the adhesive just isn't up the task. I replaced the hooks with proper command strip hooks and now they hang fine. This in no way affects the performance of these critical life and property saving devices. They are cheap assurance and everyone should have a few around their home.

I haven't burned my house down yet, so I don't know how well they work, but just based on construction and weight, I don't doubt these will perform exactly as expected if we should every have to use them. I would recommend.

I LOVE how handy these are. It comes with a little hook with a 3M strip to apply anywhere, and it does hold decently, depending on the surface. I put one in the garage on drywall and that's holding securely, but the one on the side of our kitchen island (which is wood) needed some extra adhesive to stay. The blankets hang from the hook, and they have a little drawstring at the bottom to quickly pull the blanket all of the way out. Its quick, easy, and simple. Very accessible. This is handy to keep everywhere! We put one in the kitchen, garage, laundry room, and by our burn barrel.
