Skin has a microbiome just like the gut, and keeping it intact and healthy really makes a difference in the look and feel of my skin. This serum is designed to deliver probiotics derived from ferments to the skin to gradually support the skin microbiome and help it glow from within, rather than coat skin with a temporary, shiny glasslike look.This comes out slightly viscous, but becomes almost watery once spread and patted in. It absorbs well without stickiness or tackiness, leaving skin hydrated but without any texture that would disrupt the application of other skincare or makeup. It doesn't have an added fragrance, but does have a slight fermented scent, kind of like plain kombucha (makes sense given that the probiotics in the formula are obtained via fermentation).This really does improve my skin barrier, making my skin tone and texture look and feel better with continued application. I love that it feels weightless and looks invisible. This serum feels gentle, even when my skin is feeling a bit reactive to other treatments. I will reorder this once I run low.

That’s exactly what drew me to this serum in the first place, since I’m always trying to keep my barrier in check.Ingredient-wise, this is one of those formulas that’s quietly doing a lot behind the scenes. It combines peptides, which help support the skin’s natural repair process and improve elasticity over time, with probiotic-derived ingredients (like ferments) that help balance the skin’s microbiome and keep things calm and resilient, especially helpful if your skin is sensitive or easily irritated. You know those mornings when your skin just looks especially healthy and radiant? After about six weeks of using this serum, I started noticing more of those days.The serum comes in a glass bottle with a dropper, and the formula itself is a little thicker than many serums I’ve used. It spreads easily though, so a small amount goes a long way. I typically use about five drops for my face, five for my neck and chest, and one drop for each hand.There is a slightly yeasty scent when you first apply it. Based on the ingredient list, that seems to come from the fermented ingredients in the formula rather than any added fragrance, which I personally prefer. This serum is very ferment-focused, and it also includes excellent hydrators like glycerin and beta-glucan, which likely contribute to how comfortable and moisturizing it feels on the skin.One thing I really like about this formula is how it spreads smoothly without feeling tacky. Once absorbed, it leaves my skin looking dewy to radiant and feeling nicely hydrated and moisturized.Most days I use this as the last step in my morning routine before sunscreen, and it layers beautifully with the rest of my skincare. I have a pretty involved routine and this does not pill when layered with other products, which is always a big concern for me.I’ve also used it under makeup in the evening as a primer, and it works surprisingly well in that role too.
