This seashell painting kit hit the perfect sweet spot for my 6-year-old's birthday play date activity. The glow-in-the-dark feature is what really sets this apart from regular painting kits and had the kids absolutely thrilled. The shells are real and a nice variety of shapes and sizes, which gave each child something unique to work with. The paint colors are vibrant during the day and actually glow impressively well at night (we tested them in a dark bathroom and got genuine "wows" from the kids). The brushes are decent quality for a kids' kit and held up through enthusiastic painting sessions.Instructions are simple enough for independent work, though younger kids still needed some assistance with paint mixing. The glow effect takes a few hours to fully charge under light, so patience is required—but the payoff is worth it when bedtime comes around. My only minor issue is that cleanup was a bit more involved than expected, and a couple shells needed touch-ups the next day where paint had chipped.Overall, it's a great and fun activity either by themselves with their friends.

Fun kit that comes with everything you need to provide an afternoon of crafting.I kind of wish that for the price this kit would have come with 2 sets of paints/glitters so it'd be easier for kids to share. Since this kit includes 12 (fake) shells, 6 large base shells and 6 smaller ones for extra building/embellishment, you'd expect that it might be a good group/family activity, but having only one paint set and two (different thickness) paint brushes...that makes it a bit more challenging. However, that said, if you have a few extra brushes or more acrylic paint at home already, it's a great group project, too.The little packages of self-hardening clays are brightly colored and a fun twist to add extra elements to the shells. The other adornments like googly eyes and gems are easy to use. Once the paint dries, you use the included double sided sticky dots to simply press them into place wherever you wish. Also comes with glitter glue and glow in the dark paint, too. So the finished creations can become fun little going-to-bed toys as well. Cleanup is about what you'd expect. The paints are water based, so as long as you wipe up any smudges before they dry you're good. Glitter is what it is...even though it's contained in a glue substrate, I betcha you'll find some leftover somewhere.Overall, while it might seem a little spendy up front, when you consider it's an activity that could take up a good part of an afternoon for multiple kids...it provides both fun and bang for your buck. We liked it!

The kit is visually appealing and comes with a variety of supplies, including 12 seashells, multiple paint colors (both standard and metallic), modeling clays, and fun embellishments like wiggly eyes and glitter glue. The assortment definitely sparked their creativity and kept them engaged for a good couple of hours.The glow-in-the-dark feature is the highlight of the kit. When we followed the instructions to expose the painted shells to light, they indeed glowed beautifully in the dark, which thrilled the kids. However, I found the non-toxic acrylic paints to be a bit less vibrant than I expected, and the coverage wasn't always great on some of the shells.While the kit is suitable for both beginners and more experienced young artists, the instruction manual could use a bit more detail, especially for kids who might need extra guidance. Overall, it’s a fun activity for a birthday party or a creative afternoon, but I wish the paint quality was a bit better. I’d rate it 3 stars for the fun factor and variety, but it could use some improvements in paint vibrancy and instructions.
