So far, the unit has exceeded my expectations for $40. I'll admit, installing this into my 2004 Silverado was a major pain. The installation kit (not provided) is made for older style head units, where the mounting screws are way further back. Further than this head unit is even dimensionally. So you have to use the included mount brackets. How ever they interfere with the alignment tabs for the OEM adapter, so I ended up cutting them off. I then had to semi fabricate the brackets with drill bits and a file while mocking things in place, because otherwise the unit sits 1" back from the instrument panel cover, leaving a huge gap.After I figured everything out, it had taken me over 5 hours. Not a fault of this unit itself, but partly because the head unit is so slim, if they just made the housing deeper, it would solve all of this, so negative 1 star.The reverse cam I had problems with, I ran it off my accessory power for the head unit, so I could view the camera while driving (think about checking your trailer/load while on the go). However when the camera is hooked up this way, it gets quite hot at the Y split from the cam itself. I thought this could be a faulty cam, but I exchanged the one for another and had the same issue. Now this wouldn't be a problem if you hooked the power to the cam directly from the reverse lights, because it would only be powered for >30 seconds but then I would not be able to access the cam with an app on the head unit without being in reverse. So -1 star again. I used a different style camera and this issue went away, so it's a problem inside the Y split from the cam, somehow the wiring must be extremely thin there. I will just use it as it is and see if the Y melts or not, it's outside under the bed of the truck, so it shouldn't be an issue if it does.Overall the screen is decent, probably 180-200 dpi, but there's no information on this. It's a 720p screen so that the max res you'll get. It does reflect light horribly there's no antireflect at all, but the way mines angled is ok for me.The sound quality is ok on the bottom end, but the top end is extremely dull, I have 3 way aftermarket speakers, and they definitely sounded better on the 1999 pioneer CD player. I even played with the equalizer to no avail.I would recommend this if you have an old or spare vehicle and you want android auto, or gps capabilities. The reverse cam is lackluster and has a quite narrow viewing angle, it's probably only 100 degrees. I've never used Android auto before, and it did connect easily to my LG G8 without any issue, but it was my first and only time using, so nothing to compare against.

Absolute junk. Wasted an hour of my life wiring it all up to install only to find out the unit was dead on arrival. If you're brave enough to buy one of these definitely bench test it before you waste your time trying to install it

Wanted to try it out first. For the money, it's a decent little unit. The down side is once your phone is connected, it will not let you switch back to local stations. Also when accepting a call, if you answer with an ear piece, it will not let the earpiece function. I don't want everyone with me to always hear my calls. Aside from that, it's pretty good for the price.

A high quality screen supplied with all the fixings required. Good range of functionality. Easy to set up and install. Instructions are fairly good.

I have fitted this unt into a 2021 Dacia Sandero which in its basic form is just that, basic. Installing this unit was relatively simple and we tested it both with Apple Car Play and Android Auto and it connected to both handsets easily and repeatedly without problems.At £44.98 as at the time of review you do get a surprisingly good unit and whilst it isnt as good as the display in my wife's Mini or my Skoda Scala manufacturer unit, as an add on in a Dacia, it is pretty good; it is the second of these units we have fitted, the first from a different manufacturer failed. Response times and screen quality are where this item fails to impress, but remember, this is a unit which works and costs less that £45.00, so impressive performance for the price. Connecting into the audio system to use the speakers in the Dacia was very simple and required a USB cable.So how does the screen perform? Unsuprisingly in bright light it is quite poor HOWEVER, shading the screen a little or tilting it down slightly permits the screen to work adequately and more than good enough to follow the mapping function and access apps like WhatsApp. In terms of the screen I have already mentioned the issues with bright light, the other issue being the latency in regards to reaction to touching the screen - it works, but don't expect the latency levels to be good, they aren't; but for £45 in a budget car, decent enough.In summary, good value for money. 64Gb of onboard memory, easy to pair with either Apple or Android, simple wired connection into the car's audio system and you are ready to go. Great item for an older first car, or in our case, a run around.
