Review:
5.0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive; decent for a beginner or to have a spare around for guests
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I've been playing tennis for long enough for x-ray technicians to be able to tell by a quick glance at either my right shoulder or my elbow. So I like a heavier, smaller-frame racquet. However, this is a good, general purpose racquet to have around for guests, or for a beginner. The grip size is right for about 50% of the adult population and when your friend scrapes it along the cement surface chasing a low ball, falls over it, or just flings it in frustration, you're not watching a half large go up in smoke. It has a large face, so there is some power in it, but not a ton of control. Be kind, however, and put a string dampener on it, and maybe some balance tape out toward the head. It is really light, and though the shock wasn't as bad as I recall from my old aluminum frame days, it is still pretty sharp. I also found it was balanced a bit too far back toward the throat than I prefer. Your feelings may vary.Yeah, it's inexpensive, but this is about what I was willing to invest in for a racquet that will see use twice a year. That makes it a good deal.
4.0 out of 5 stars BatZoom tennis racket - bronze/gold
The first thing that I want to note is that the red brand design on the strings was starting to chip off before we even got it (yes I realize that it is a red "B" with a cutout "Z" for the brand. Chipping is on the end). Though, I suppose that would probably happen after heavy use anyways so probably not a big deal. Now, I know nothing about tennis at all. I just get a racket here and there so that my boys have a random activity to do at the park here and there. The handle is thick and well cushioned, so comfortable in the hand. It is a decent size, especially for someone still learning how to line up their hits. The bag that it comes in is a good quality though a bit snug so you have to push the racket down and into the bag in order to zip it all the way closed. All in all, I think it is a great racket and I am happy to have ordered it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good racquet for beginner or casual play
I am not tennis expert so I have no need for high-end racquet. I have been using a 20 year old boring Wilson to teach my daughter tennis basics.First impression on this one is that it's solid and well balanced. It's not super light but felt comfortable in my hand. The grip is soft with good traction. The color of this racquet is definitely interesting. Indoor it is red-ish copper but kept shifting shade as you look from different angle. Under the sun it's almost bright gold. I even got a wow out of my daughter. The racquet doesn't come with a vibration damper but the vibration I felt is not overly harsh at all. I do still plan to add damper on it at some point.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice beginner racket
Just used this for the first time today practicing with my son, and it felt great. Nice weight and grip, slightly longer and narrower than my normal racket (Head Liquidmetal) but there wasnât a noticeable difference, and this racket is a fraction of the price. It will probably need a dampener if you plan to play a little more seriously, but for hitting practice with a 6 year old it was fine. It also comes with a standard black racket bag with the brand name on it, so a nice little bonus if you donât have a bag already. At this price point, itâs a great deal for a beginner racket.
4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for a beginner tennis racquet
At this price point I did not expect much from this beginner tennis racquet when I was looking around for something to teach my friend with. This racquet from BatZoom exceeded my expectations in every way. In the package you get a single racquet carrying case and a pre-strung tennis racquet with brown grip tape. Right away I could feel that the strings have a good enough tension in them to get out on the court and start hitting some balls. The only reason why I took a star away from this review was because there wasn't an option for other grip sizes. I have bigger hands and prefer a larger grip but for my friend's purposes this wasn't an issue. I'd still recommend starting with a tennis racquet like this if you are just starting to learn the sport.
5.0 out of 5 stars Ignore the brand name, this is a quality racket.
Pleasantly surprised at the quality of this racket. Costing around what you would buy at Wal-mart or similar box store, it has same or better value. The grip is soft, yet gives you a firm grip. It is well balanced and swings easy in the wrist. The ball definitely pops of the racket and gives little vibration if none on a centered shot.Overall very pleased with this one.
3.0 out of 5 stars Racket for beginners
It's an ok racket for beginners. $36.99 seems to be high for a no-brand product. You can find similar sets of 2 rackets with tennis balls for $39.99 here in Bolo, and branded quality single rackets in the $40 range. At at price point of $20-$25 it would be a good buy.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice quality, bag is great.
This is a really nice racket with decent tension. It's nice and lightweight, and the carrying bag is great too. I think this will last well, and make a great recreational tennis racket.
