I like the fact that this barn is made out of wood, rather than the plastic one I got for my kids back in the 90s. The barn is made well with no defects that I can find. The paint is a little off on the inside, but this is for my toddler grandkids and they really like it. The animals are all plastic and the grandkids like playing with them and throwing them, lol. My three grandkids are pretty rough with their toys and this barn has stood up to their abuse. This barn is one of the first toys they ask for when they come over. I am happy that I got it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Realistic Wooden Barn With Fence, 2 Ladders, Farm Animals - Sturdy Carry Handles = Portable Too
Wooden barn is quite sturdy with 1/4-inch roof, barn stall pieces, and floors; 3/8ths-inch wall sides, including the two sides that the full-length hinge is attached to; and 1/2-inch stall posts that support the interior loft portion of the barn. The wooden carry handles are sturdy and are well-protected by the 1/4-inch red-colored wooden pieces that enclose them to hold them in place. The bright silver-colored latch is very securely connected using matching screws and closes with a click that keeps the barn securely closed when you want it to stay closed. The paint looks good from the exterior, though on the interior walls around the windows you can see stripes of paint on the otherwise bare-wood walls that just look...poorly finished and like somebody didn't do a good job; this is purely cosmetic and does not detract from the playability - I'm very picky and just notice this as I'm inspecting it to review.The barn doors are SO cute: they have little indents cut into them and grooves in the beams above and below them so that they actually can slide open and closed. With that said, the only negative I see to this barn is these doors are very thin (slightly more than 1/4-inch thick) and that wood product that is very lightweight and "peels," and one corner of the door was already peeling on the farm that I received. I did add a touch of glue to it to keep it from peeling further. With the barn doors fully opened, the opening is only 1 3/4-inches wide, and I believe a lot of the play will be from the opened interior back of the barn, so I may just glue the doors open if I see any further damage due to the doors' material and its thinness.The two ladders and the accordioned fence are a wonderful addition, and the one small piece at one end of the fence that wasn't glued well just took a couple of drops of wood glue to get it back in place with no ill effects. One of the stall pieces is glued in slightly crooked...but doesn't affect the playability of this toy.The posting does a very good job of describing this item and its accessories, including the size and colors of the animals. And even though there's a couple of things that I had to take a couple of minutes to get it up to my detail-noticing eye, this is a wooden barn that is roomy and will last for years. It's very well thought out so that the farm animals fit well and the accessories are sturdy and fun, and it looks realistic. It's sure to get tons of play time with its child/ren and will last for years and years. I also find it to be a great value due to the barns' quality and its included accessories.I would order this again most definitely!

Got this for my grandson who is so curious and loves animals. I'm very impressed with the overall quality of this play set. The barn is a nice size and made of wood. Feel quite sturdy and appears built to last with repeated play. My grandson loves the assortment of animals that comes with this set. The animals are well made and colorful. I like that the animals all fit inside the barn and the doors close and latch for storage. Quite nice play set . I woukd recommend

This Simpliplay Farm House With Animals is really well made. I had a similar name-brand farm when I was a kid, and that thing was 100% plastic; even the fence rails were plastic. In this farm from Simpliplay, only the animals are plastic. The barn, the fence rails, and the ladder are all wooden. The outside of the barn does have some sort durable water resistant plastic coating on it, but it's necessary to protect the wood.The barn comes with a cow, pig, lamb, horse, donkey, chicken, duck, goose, cat, and dog, so there are plenty of characters for the kids to work with. All the pieces fit inside the barn, and the barn opens and closes like a dollhouse. There are two levels inside the barn, a hayloft (hay not included) and a stable below. It also has two sliding doors on the front. The sides of the barn close with an easy-to-use latch on the side, and it has two handles on the top for easy carrying.Everything about this barn is great except the smell. I can't tell if it's coming from the animals or the cladding on the outside of the barn, but boy, is it powerful. I'm going to try wiping everything down with a barely damp sponge soaked with vinegar and a few drops of vanilla extract and see if that helps. I can't remember if the name-brand plastic farm of my childhood smelled like this, but I suspect it did. I don't think you can get a farm toy that DOESN'T smell like plastic, so I didn't deduct a star like I usually would. Buy plastic toys, get plastic smell. Otherwise a much better barn that what I had as a kid, and we played with that thing until all the paint wore off and the animals were all gray wrinkly blobs lol. The price is quite reasonable too. A++

Damaged
I had actually bought this on behalf of my nursery. Well when delivered the box was damaged. So I was inclined to open it. A good job I did as the handle of the farm was snapped. So im sending it back for a refund and i will wait for nursery to decide whether we will reorder. Other than the damage to handle the frame of the farm seems sturdy enough and size of animals are decent.
Farm itself is great, animals not so.
The wooden elements of this toy are cute. The farm itself and the foldable pen and ladder set is really lovely. It folds away neatly and has a handy carry handle that makes it easy for carrying around independently. However the animals that came with it are a little off- funny colours, strange markings and the sizes are all different. I would get just for the farm and then buy some nicer animals to go in it. 4/5
