It's on the low end of the pricing range for a single drive, though you can get them cheaper in bulk. When I plugged it into my computer, it instantly identified it and opened it for use - no problem there.My only hesitation, and it's minor, is that according to Windows, it isn't 32GB. This is normal because of the discrepancy between how many bytes math rules say should be in a gigabyte, vs. how a binary computer does the calculation. Even allowing for this difference, though, this drive is a bit on a small side - a 32GB drive would ordinarily appear as 31 GB or so, but this one is only 29.2 GB. That's not a huge difference though and it's pretty unlikely you'll care, just thought it's worth mentioning.Anyway, this is a fine USB drive, everyone should have one kicking around as you never know when you'll need one. It has a removable plastic cover to protect the USB plug (until you lose it), and a string with a hook so you can hook it to something like a zipper handle to make sure it doesn't get lost.

[lcwamy USB 32GB Thumb Drive USB2.0 Flash Drive 32GB USB Flash Drive USB Drive 32GB Pen Drive USB Flash Drives USB Stick (White, no Logo) (32GB, white) - $6.88]USB2 is regrettable nowadays, but it writes about as fast as some poorly performing USB3 flash drives I have. The housing is just cheap plastic. I wouldn't use the lanyard hole because i'd be afraid it would come apart or break off. The white is rather translucent, so the red LED shines through it brightly which I find very annoying. It is not designed to snap and hold the cap on the backside when the drive is in use, so that'll probably get lost pretty much immediately.There are better drives in the price range. It functions ok, but I'd keep looking.

The casing for this USB thumb drive is slim yet seems as though it is durable enough to carry in a pocket with other items. The included lanyard is a nice touch. The cap fits securely, although I prefer retractable drives so that I don't have to worry about losing the cap. That being said, the cap will work great for keeping out dust and pocket lint.On to the most important information: There are many unscrupulous vendors selling drives with fake capacities, so I typically order drives from the usual big name brands. This one was sent to me for review and I was pleasantly surprised at the test results. I tested this drive utilizing a USB 3.0 port (note that the drive is 2.0), directly on the motherboard of a high spec computer that I recently built. I verified this drive's capacity using ValiDrive. The capacity is as advertised and there were no read or write errors during the testing.Unfortunately, after a few minutes of reading ValiDrive's explanation of how to interpret the test results of the read and write speeds, it seems that it's rather complicated. They offer this caveat: "Since operating systems typically write entire files and even multiple files at once, a single 'voltage charging' cycle can be amortized across the entire large write. So large writes are able to proceed at a reasonable pace. But since ValiDrive only writes 4k bytes before reading it back, causing the 'writing charge' to be dumped before each read, ValiDrive accentuates this delay for drives which require a long write-cycle." So, take the report with a grain of salt as it may not indicate typical read and write speeds under more common circumstances.

I needed is small, inexpensive flash drive to store and transfer movie files, so I opted for this Icwamy USB 32GB Thumb Drive. It arrived preformatted to FAT32, so all I needed to do was plug it into my PC, and I was good to go.I tested it by downloading a movie from my PC hard drive onto the flash drive. I knew that the write speed would be the bottleneck, but this little doodad out-performed the specs and downloaded at ~12.5MB/s, much better than the specified 10 MB/s. It took less than 2.5 minutes to download the 2.5 GB movie onto the flash drive.While the movie downloaded, a red LED mounted on the flash drive circuit board flashed through the white plastic housing to indicate that the drive was downloading a file. The only thing that was kind of odd was that when the movie download was completed, the LED remained lit. This was the case as long as the flash drive was plugged into the USB slot.All that being said, I'm pleased with the performance of this little flash drive, and it comes in at an excellent price point. Don't be afraid to get one of these. The quality is there.

I've tried a number of thumb drives and I always have the same complaint. They tend to be kind of slow when putting large files on them.So, I was really surprised when I loaded a couple of large files onto this thumb drive. The speed that the files were copied onto it was pretty quick. In fact, I barely had to wait at all.The thumb drive is also nice looking and it has a small cord with a shackle on the end so you can clip it to a key chain or the inside of a pocket so you can't lose it.The thumb drive fit snug into the USB port on my computers. That's actually a nice thing to have happen as a lot of USB products have a sort of slop or looseness to them when they are plugged in. This one fit snub without being to tight and it was also easy to remove when I was done.I'm so happy with it that I'm going to get a few more. This thumb drive is a bargain at this price and whole 32 gb isn't as much as it used to be, for the price you can buy a bunch of them.Great product!
