We purchased this for the bottom of the doors at our cabin, where the paint was frequently getting chipped. It’s pricey for what it is, but it’s easy to install and is working perfectly to stop the need for repetitive maintenance.

This thing worked perfectly I was able to do the bottom of four doors of standard size. The problem is is it says it's easy to cut and it is not unless you have a pair of scissors that cut steel or in my case my husband used his bandsaw to cut it if you have one of them it works perfect but once it's stuck you're not getting it back off without ruining your door I recommend it to keep Verment out

This is a good value for a roll of good quality, attractive, stainless steel self stick plating in a continuous roll length of 102 inches (8.5 feet) in length by 4 inches wide by 0.4mm (0.02 inches) thick. It can be used on doors, cabinets and for other decorative uses and accents. It won’t require any adhesive or hardware to attach as it is self-adhesive with a peel and stick backNote that you will want to wear gloves when handling, unwrapping or installing this. They do try to make the edges not overly sharp, but with all thin metal like this the edges can be unexpectedly sharp. So be sure to wear a pair of gloves when handling it and installing (no gloves are included).You will need to remove the two strips of peel and stick tape to install it. If for some unlikely reason you eventually need to replace the tape on the back or add extra over time or for some areas you can use similar double sided foam tape that’s readily available (I keep some around for household projects). You won’t need any hardware, glue or adhesive as it’s a peel and stick style.This kind of peel and stick backing and tape is not going to be easy to reposition during application and may not remove easily. You’ll want to be careful and position it properly and have it level (it helps if you have a helper standing further back to be sure you have it level during installation or two people installing it if in a long section).If you’re putting it on a painted or delicate surface, it will leave some residue that will need to be removed if you remove it. I would also expect that this kind of adhesive would remove some paint or surface material or finish if you try to remove it. So use it in an area you plan to leave it on permanently vs short term or want it to be removable.The listing says you can use household scissors, but it’s fairly thick and you’ll likely want to use something heavier to cut and trim it with. I don’t think most scissors would trim this.I would measure it out to fit the area and cut it before removing the peel and stick tape. Be sure the area is clean and fry from dust and any oils (from your hands or the environment) before you try to install it.It can be used on doors, cabinets, under cabinets, on walls, furniture or anywhere you want a decorative accent or to hide an unsightly area. I can see this making a nice frame around mirrors without frames as well. Remember you can use it horizontally, vertically and trim corners (like a picture frame corner or miter) or trim it to fit the area.Note that it is not a true dark ebony tone. It’s more of a deep silver ebony tone between a very dark silver gray and ebony. It’s not a stark, inky ebony tone. It’s fairly close in person to what it looks like in the listing pictures. It has a light stainless steel grain brushed texture as shown in the pictures. It looks nice in person and the quality and thickness are nice. It will coordinate with stainless, brushed nickel and ebony tones.The listing pictures suggest that you may want to roll it out or put something heavy on it if you have issues with it not being flat. It is rolled up in a roll but not overly tightly, but you may want to do this to flatten it. No instructions come with it, you may want to refer to, save or print out the listing details and instructions.They do not rate this in the listing for exterior use so I’d assume this is only for interior uses and doors. It is rated to be resistant to scratches and rust but I’d not want to put it in an area where it stays wet with water.

So close to being 5 stars…I am using this as a kickplate under my kitchen cabinets as we had a dishwasher leak that required a remediation company to drill holes in my existing wood kickplate. I absolutely love the color of this as it matches the black stainless of our appliances perfectly. It was easy enough to unroll and measure, although cutting requires more than a razor knife. You will need tin snips, or a saw. I used snips for both horizontal and vertical cuts and it didn’t have an issue, but I also am pretty good with a pair of snips as I did HVAC earlier in my career.Once installed, it looks great. My one issue, and the reason I am knocking off a star, is that the adhesive on the back is very weak. For me, it’s not a huge deal because I cut it tightly enough so that it is sort of wedged in top to bottom, which should hold it in place. But in order to make sure that it wouldn’t come loose, I did put a few stainless tacks along the edges, hidden underneath the cabinets. It wouldn’t take that much for the manufacturer just to use a better quality adhesive, and then I’d be able to recommend this to anyone wholeheartedly. If you’re going to install this, I would say just be ready and willing to put a little construction adhesive on the back as a back up, as I would not trust the adhesive that comes with this to hold it up to any sort of abuse at all.
