I wanted to try Japanese red bean paste after seeing these desserts in a movie. They are a nice plain desert that anyone could enjoy. Not spectacular. Not something I'll order again. But nice to say I tried them.

My boys liked these, but they were too dry for my preference. I have had these homemade ones, which will always be better, but I was expecting something with better moisture content since they were individually wrapped. So I don't know if they weren't fresh or made with the dry texture intentionally.The center has a subtle sweetness that is hard to explain unless you have tried the beans that flavor the center before. I bought them because I hadn't seen the treats in a long time.The size of these is like a silver dollar pancake, no bigger. I was surprised how small they were.I gave three stars because my teen boys asked for more. If it were me alone, I didn't like them, but perhaps I am holding it up to a too high a bar- the homemade gold standard.
