I just love this stand! I’ve been looking for a stand to use for both my tablet and cookbooks for quite a while now, and haven’t really found anything that seems sturdy enough. This one fits that bill.I have several different reading stands, for different situations (in bed, in a chair, standing in the kitchen), and naturally they have different prices. This one is priced on the lower end of that range, yet is just amazing in its sturdiness.It is a bit difficult to move the arm up, down, swivel, but that makes sense given the kind of weight it can support. Also, sadly I have lots of arm and hand issues, so that adds something to the degree of challenge in changing its orientation. However, I’ve got it placed where I want it at just the right height for how I’m using it, and it can just stay there, happy where it is and to be of use.It came packaged very securely, has directions both on and inside the box (how refreshing!), has good padding on the bottom so won’t hurt a tabletop or counter, the only part that has to be assembled is the baffle thing, and boy was that easy. Also, the baffle arms to secure pages are a material that won’t hurt your screens, if you need to use them for that. With the angle adjusted tho, I don’t have a need to use the baffle arms on my tablet. It’s easy to pick up and move.Really glad I found this…if you need a reading stand in the kitchen or on a tabletop, this is the one!

This item is really well put together--so much so, when you first move the parts, it's almost a struggle to get it open. But that bodes well for it staying together in the future. The construction is solid; the materials, excellent. This feels like something that will be around for years! Recommended highly.

This stand is great! I had a different, wooden and metal stand which was okay, but the features of this stand are great. There is an acrylic lip that is nice and wide for your book, tablet, surface pro or even phone to set on. It is super steady and has a large panel to set big cookbooks on. It won’t easily get knocked over. The page clips with the plastic page holders are also good – they are flexible but seem more substantial than most. It is a bit tough to move and adjust the swivel part of it, but I think it may ease up after I use it a bit. It has rubber padding on the bottom so it doesn’t scrape your table or counter. I highly recommend this if you want a super study, durable book stand.

This book holder is heavy duty. It’s made of metal except for the piece that attaches at the bottom that holds your book. Takes a bit of muscles to move the arm to adjust the height, but once in place you’re good to go. This book holder is not going to tip over. You could also use as a iPad holder if your recipe is on it. Comes mostly assembled. Just attach the acrylic piece at the bottom, took 30 seconds to do. I will definitely be using this while cooking.
