So, being as they are very expensive and so they're beyond my budget to buy already prepared, I decided that I’d try buying them plain and roasting them with various spice blends and I even bought a few new ones that sounded like they should be delicious on this product. I’ve been very pleased with this product and the various spice flavor profiles that I’ve tried to date and am loving how simple it is to make this wonderful snack at home.Flavor wise the only limitation for these is a person’s imagination as really any spice/spice blend that you like with other dishes, you’re likely to love on these. They’re incredibly easy to prepare and super delicious. To date my favorite spice blend to use for roasting them is Berbere (an Ethiopian blend).I have the product on subscription, but I may have to decrease the time between shipments because these are addictive (in a good way). I highly recommend this product!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I’ve already bought this product three times, and I’ll happily keep buying it again. Yes, it’s a bit more expensive compared to what I pay back home, but the quality and health benefits make it worth it. The makhana is fresh, clean, and puffs up beautifully when roasted. I love having control over the seasoning and enjoy customizing it to suit my mood- sweet, salty, or spicy!Considering how nutritious makhana is- high in protein, fiber, and low in calories- I don’t mind spending a little extra for a product I can trust. It’s now a regular item on my grocery list and a must-have in my kitchen.

Best evening snacks compared to popcorn and my new goto snack. Has protein and fiber so, definitely don’t have to worry about cheat diet. Has a very earthy and neutral taste unless you prefer to use your choice of seasoning. Definitely buying again.

Great nutrition, low cal. Unusual looking to me. Mild flavor, but it fills you up. No room for junk snacks.

This kind of reminds me of real chewy, white hominy. I mean it's totally different, but I treat it similarly when cooking. I do not use it as a snack, but rather a side dish. I cook it well and add flavors like Sofrito or Birria sauce. I do fry in bacon grease to give it a tasty finish. It's fairly bland but takes on the flavor you add, and it makes a good side dish or can even be used in place of rice for saucy main dishes.

Not crazy about the taste or texture, but at least it is a healthy snack and like it at least as well as the unhealthy GMO pop corn and no stick between your teeth bits. I heat it in a pan with some butter and salt so quick and easy snack while watching a vid.

I like to put a bit of Knorr shrimp bullion powder or other seasonings in a small amount of oil, stir the the lotus seeds around in it until browning crispy then transfer to a bowl and toss with a bit more of the seasoning. It's a good hot crispy snack while watching TV and the seasonings can be varied to keep it interesting.
