I have tried Danner, thorogood, keen, I just can't find the same comfort with any of those. These have nearly zero break in.

The original wing shooter has always been one of my favorite boots but the XD version took it another step further. The solid wedge and reinforced toe is such an amazing addition to the boot ( while still keeping the soft toe option) I love it

I love and collect nice boots. I know that sounds silly, but I am really a big fan of having comfortable and functional boots. The problem is, functional boots rarely look good and good looking boots are rarely as functional as you would want them to be. I think that, in all the differet types of boots I have, these are by far the nicest looking functional boots I have ever had. I live in the northern mid-west and need a nice pair of waterproof boots for the winter, and also ones that I 'm not going to trip and slip around in when I am on walks (which I like to do a lot). The trick is, I also want them to look nice enough that I can wear them to work and what not. These boots are the perfect mix betwee those two elements. On one end, they look fantastic and are nice enough to wear in business casual clothes; however, they are completely waterproof and non-slip which is great. They aren't going to help you when your walking on thick ice or things of that nature, but they are great for walking around the office or places that have been recently mopped or have some form of spill. The thing I really like is the look of the leather and the style. On top of all of this, they are some of the most comfortable boots I have ever worn (and, as I said, I have worn a ton of boots before). They are very cushy to wear and they are firm enough that you don't have to hold the back of them in order to put them on or take them off. They are great for standing in for a long time, although they are a bit heavy if that is something that you are not interested in. Personally, I like the weight of them. One final thing is they are also insulated so they are probably not going to be your go-to summer boots. I don't need summer boots though, so thats not a problem for me. All in all, these are absolutely amazing boots and I'd buy them again and again. I cannot recommendt this enough!

These boots are very sturdy. They seem to be high quality and robustly made. The sizing feels accurate if not just slightly larger than expected.Style-wise, they are a bit clunky for me. I have worn other brands of Moc toe boots in the past, but these seem to have both a thicker sole and a taller toe box, which (on my feets) reminds me a bit of Frankenstein's monster. If my mom were around she would definitely call these 'clod-hoppers.'Given they are a chunkier work boot I will say they are pretty lightweight. Not in a cheap feeling way, but in a reduced fatigue and good design kind of way. I could definitely see myself wearing these all day without a complaint. They were comfortable right out of the box, even if the shaft was a little stiff.The Irish Setter brand is meant to be a hybrid work and hunting/field shoe, and I'd say they nailed that pretty well. The aesthetic from a distance looks like any other brown moc toe boot, but upon closer inspection there are some 'industrial' style touches like a diamond plate toe box pattern, that let you know these are also work boots. I work a very manly desk job that doesn't require the use of work footwear like this, but I do think they'll make a great pair of riding boots for my motorcycle, where I can definitely use the added 1" of height from the soles to flat food the ground at stops.

TLDR: These cost a lot of pennies, and they are worth every single one of them!Absolutely amazing! From the moment I pulled these boots out of the box, I was taken back by the lovely scent of new leather and their great appearance.These boots are not inexpensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. I've typically opted for cheaper alternatives in the past, only to replace them frequently. These high-quality boots has made me realize the true value of a premium pair. The craftsmanship is evident, with fantastic stitching and thick, yet soft leather that comfortably wraps around the foot like a glove. Notably, the toe area is reinforced with a rubber material that matches the leather seamlessly, enhancing durability without compromising style—helping to prevent scuffs and gouges to that area and maintain their aesthetic.I couldn't wait to try them out and took them for a spin through the woods for some target practice and hiking just after receiving them. Despite being work boots rather than hiking boots, they performed exceptionally well. The traction was excellent, and I had no concerns about slipping, though they are so nice that I almost regretted getting them dirty!While it's too soon to comment definitively on their longevity, I expect these boots to last several years at least, assuming the soles wear well. The construction quality suggests they will endure much use.My only gripe is the cream-colored sole and white stitching, which, while stylish, tend to show dirt more easily. Regular wiping down after use should help maintain their new look. That said, they are work boots, I don't expect that they would stay 'like new' after extensive use.Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with these boots. They are fantastic, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for durable, high-quality footwear. Should anything change or if they don't hold up as expected, I will be sure to update this review.

These boots broke in fast and feel like they were built to last—plenty of support without turning my feet into bricks by day’s end. They’ve handled wet job sites and muddy trails like champs, and the waterproofing actually works, which is rare. I’ve worn them for hours and still walked like a human after, so they’re staying in my regular rotation.
