I bought this for a very sweet 11yr old girl who loves to catch bugs and small lizards. She was previously using a plastic container and when I was searching for the perfect gift, I knew this would be it. It comes in several pieces which you have to put together but she loves building things, it took her less than 10 mins. It’s great quality wood, looks just as pictured and functions exactly as described. Now her friends are safe and living in designer digs. Her favorite feature is the door. It can only be opened from the outside so no one can escape lol

This is adorable and will last with my alterations, bit I have a few problems with it:1. It came disassembled - like a "build your own bug catcher kit." It's not difficult, but definitely unexpected.2. The wood had cracks I had to fill with wood glue in multiple places.3. The door on the front is not even kind of sealed, so you'll have to find a way to seal it if you want to keep smaller bugs in. Personally, I used clear packing tape, so it's sealed but still looks nice.

Other than being so frustrating to put together, it has been the perfect gift for my grandson. I am impressed by the quality for what I spent on it. The kids love playing with it. I think the hinges are having a problem but probably my fault. That part was very hard to put together. Only suggestion would be a smaller screwdriver for that part and it probably would have worked better.

Very nice high quality collection set for your aspiring biologist. The items included are actually functional and will allow your special little person to collect specimens and observe them 'up close and personal' while respecting life and keeping things safe. The lack of plastic and use of natural materials, in this childrens' kit, is very commendable. Highly recommend!

Super cute set for curious toddlers and kids. It’s so much fun to use with when we are doing sensory play. It’s good quality and I love the accessories especially the insect facts cards that come with this set.

This house was purchased for Easter for my sun. It was stored in a closed and covered cabinet on our deck. After 1-2 uses, every glued part started breaking and there was mold growing all over it. Whatever materials were used were not sturdy and were also prone to mildew/mold. It is so cute but absolutely nonfunctional.
Lovely way to teach young ones about insects found in the garden
Lovely wooden insect house that allows little ones to explore and get their hands on real life insects to see how they live, and not be afraid of them (insects not included in this insect kit - they must find them themselves).This pack teaches them that insects are not "yuck" but are part of the garden and don't do them any harm (so no need for screams when a ladybird lands on them!).Ypou get both an insect net and a wooden pair of tweezers catch the insects, but I'm not sure the tweezers are a good idea with most insects! The net works just fine and save the insect from accidental squishes with the tweezers.Just remember to release the insects after observation and identification, as this is not a habitat box for the insects to live in, and in the hot sun the box can be quite hot.

Outdoor bug hunting fun kit
Really fun way for the little ones to take an interest in nature with this house that they can use to place bugs and small bug food such as leaves inside. When so much is now done on screens this will definitely help kids enjoy the outside again and the price is good value for money given all the items included and decent quality of the items.
