"The Titanic... It’s a topic we all know well, or do we? In just a matter of minutes of reading this book, I realized just how much more there is to know! As a teacher and librarian, I am always looking for nonfiction text that appeals to kids! The format, with small sections of information and supporting pictures, will keep even my most reluctant readers engaged, while the content and vocabulary are rich enough that it will allow my more advanced readers and Titanic enthusiasts to geek out on the facts and information provided! I’m really excited to add this to my library!" ―Rachel Cleek, MA Elementary Education, Teacher & Librarian
"This book really sheds so much more light on the history of the Titanic and the people who were on board. The true or false and question and answer pages are so engaging and fun for any reader!" ―Ashley Marquez of teachcreatemotivate.com
"It takes a Titanic enthusiast to relate the grandeur and tragedy of the great ship. It takes a teacher to know how to engage a young audience with an addictive Q&A style sure to ignite new enthusiasts’ interest." ―Ari Mosquera, MA, Curriculum and Instruction and Owner of thesciencepenguin.com
"This high-interest book is perfect for readers of all ages who want to get a different perspective of what it was like to be on the Titanic. Beyond the engaging images and text features, the author did an amazing job of taking you on a journey inside the stories that make up this fascinating historical event. My kids and I could not put this book down!" ―Kristin Rivera of onestopteachershop.com
Praise for The Mystery of The Titanic:
"From the immediacy of the opening paragraph, readers enter into the world of the luxurious ship, the Titanic. Details bring that fateful voyage to life. Rather than details out of context, they are effortlessly woven into the narrative. Photos, diagrams, documents, glossary, and bibliography will provide a deep dive for readers. The layout and format also will serve as a model for writing." ―Teri S. Lesesne, distinguished professor of library science
"Secret fires, ping pong balls, and inaccessible binoculars? Kelly Milner Halls covers the story of the Titanic you know with the details you didn't and sets up a first-rate mystery for kids in the process." ―Elizabeth Byrd, Publishers Weekly columnist
"Kelly Milner Halls takes readers on an intimate behind-the-scenes tour of the Titanic. From the conflicts among people tasked to design and build her, to the flaws that lead to her demise, this well-researched history will keep you on the edge of your seat." ―Christine Taylor-Butler, award-winning author of children's nonfiction
"Kudos to author Kelly Milner Halls for telling an oft-told story, the wreck of the Titanic, in an engaging and creative way. By teasing out the mysteries around why and how the ship sank, Halls has crafted a gripping nonfiction tale for young readers. Was it cost-cutting on rivets or a coal fire that weakened the hull where the iceberg struck? Was the ship going too fast, or did a thermal inversion caused by warm and cold currents colliding make it hard to see the obstacle? One thing is for sure: young readers with a taste for disaster (and mysteries) will gobble this book right up." ―Bruce Hale, author of Clark the Shark

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and informative!
My 6 year old grandson is obsessed with the Titanic and really liked this trio of books.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bundle!!!!
This 3-book bundle was so interesting! It comes with 3 different books, a coloring book, a Q&A book and a book telling the story of the Titanic, A historical investigation for kids. It is listed for grades 3-7 and that sounds about correct, at least for the Mystery book. The coloring book would be better for the younger kids and the Q&A is interesting and a very fast read. The third book, the Mystery of the Titanic is an excellent read! I learned so much about the making of the ship, the company, some of the passengers and the trip and even more about the sinking and rescue. It was so well written and it had my attention the entire book. If they redo, or update, the book, they will need to update the information on the company that used to take tourists to the site ….... otherwise fun filed with facts, great pictures and graphics. This would be great as a classroom set of books. I found them really interesting and a fun read!⭐️ 1 star - I don't recommend it at all.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, poorly written or bad information.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - Good Book. Not for me. Not the most well written.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Very good book quite, I would recommend and well written.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Book that I totally recommend and could not put down. Well written and a book I would read again
4.0 out of 5 stars A nice bundle of Titanic history, trivia and coloring book
This bundle of three distinct Titanic-themed books is targeted at kids 8 through 12, but may have some appeal to a younger siblings. The Mystery of The Titanic is a traditional illustrated story book, probably more suitable for middle-graders; Titanic Q&A provides its information in a form of short trivia blurbs (true or false). The coloring book contains 30 tear-away pages on a thick enough paper to support any chosen media (pencils, markers, paint), and it was an instant hit with our youngest.Overall print quality is quite good, and the bundle itself, while seemingly mixing in a few different grades, still fits well and offers good value.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice book set
This an excellent set that’s I ordered for my 10 year old. She isn’t a big coloring book person, but she did enjoy it and the book is filled with facts. The Q&A guide helps answer questions about the Titanic tragedy in an easy to understand format, as well. This was a nice addition to our homeschool collection.
5.0 out of 5 stars Quality set
My tween daughter loves to read, and has been recently really into learning history. A local theatre we regularly attend is doing the Titanic musical this season, so I thought this would be subject she'd enjoy learning about. You get three paperback books in the set: a historical "mystery" book, a facts book set up like a Q&A, and a coloring book that doubles as a story. They arrive bundled together, and could make nice gift! I paged through the books and found them interesting, and then gave them to my nine year old who loved learning about the Titanic! She was thrilled the coloring book paper is sturdy enough that it doesn't bleed through, too!Callisto Kids is an established education-focused publishing company. We own a few of their "Learn to ___" preschool books, and they are also really nice quality. For $25, this is a great set for any Titanic fan -- or a nonfiction book project!
5.0 out of 5 stars Engaging, Great Structure, Excellent Visuals!
This trio of books is such an outstanding learning tool. It's great for children being homeschooled, children not being challenged in their conventional school, and any curious child! We love how the text is broken up in ways that reduce reader fatigue. The visuals are needed and the variety of colored text boxes also keep eyes dancing over the page. Learning is effortless when the book is structured like this! There are plenty of facts and details that might even surprise an adult reader! And, everything here is clear and age appropriate. The coloring book is a fantastic addition! It's such a great way for the family to hang out and do something technology free for an hour or so. I really like that the printing is only on one side so even if there were "bleed through" (and our kids go rough on coloring books), it wouldn't matter. This is also a great set for teachers at private schools! Excellent to put in the classroom library!
5.0 out of 5 stars A great set of books for young Titanic fans
My son has watched every movie and video he can find about the Titanic. He is fascinated with it, which is fine with me since it helps inspire him to learn more about history. I thought this 3-book set would be a great Christmas present for him. It contains the following 3 books: A Titanic Q&A book that answers most of the questions that anyone would have about the Titanic, a book called The Mystery of the Titanic which delves deeper into the disaster and why it happened, and a coloring book with 30 different scenes for your child to color. I know my son will be excited when he opens this present on Christmas morning.
4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty cool
Interesting and informative. I personally just thought that it was a little strange to have a coloring book with it.Overall do recommend though.
