This book is a great resource and worth the price for a beginner. If you are suffering from analysis paralysis and needing somewhere to start this book is perfect. There a good actionable steps that allow you to focus on what needs to be done and helps you figure out where you need to start. Nothing is being sold to you which I really appreciate. I have a few more pages to read but I wanted to leave this review before I get busy with the first step.

This book is an excellent guide to starting an ALF. In addition to providing a step-by-step guide, Mr. Bahta addresses the importance of leadership in developing a kind and caring staff. The book is well written, but it's not a gripping read that will keep you up past your bedtime.Full disclosure: My brother has been a resident at the Windermere Assisted Living Facility (WALF), which Mr. Bahta runs for 6+ years now. My wife and I tried to take care of him for nine years prior to finding WALF hiring a a variety of caretakers, none of who were up to the task. All of which is to say, Mr. Bahta knows his stuff.If you're contemplating taking care of a loved one, this book is a great place to start, even if you're not currently planning on starting an ALF. I wish I had read this book before setting off on my own. Thanks, Tesfa.

I am a CNA working in a long term health care serving for seniors. I was recommended by a friend to read the new published book how to open a new assisted living facility. I found the book is rich in resources that I want to know. The reason behind the need for more assisted living facilities, the healthcare regulations, the planning and research to open assisted living and running the business very good knowledge for me. As a CNA I just got a vision to my heart to start my own assisted living business which is very related to my profession.
