Does exactly what is claims! I have 3 medium bordering on large dogs. One of them (who knows maybe all of them) have started, since moving to a new home, going up the stairs, pushing my daughter's bedroom open and dropping fecal. Short of replacing the door and frame (old house) I've tried a lot to deter this. BUT IT KEEPS HAPPENING. My daughter's upset, I'm upset, and just over it. Worried how it could look if I put an exterior lock/latch on her bedroom.Enter this gate. Better than expected build quality, the retractability is great, & opening it is pretty easy. Install was a breeze! Definitely recommend as it works well as intended and has added much needed dog protection.

Solid gate with great width and convenience! The retractable mesh rolls away neatly when not in use. Installation is simple and drill‑free, and the locking latch feels secure. My toddler and dog haven’t been able to push it through. A reliable and space-saving solution for keeping my little one safe.

I personally think this works great. You do need to screw it into your wall, but how else would you expect to get to work properly? It comes with all the pieces that you need. It’s extremely easy to use and the height is very appropriate. It does help to deter the pets from crossing it however, lol if you have one, that’s quite determined you’ll find their heads stuck under it. They don’t get hurt at all. It seems to be a very good quality and the gray. I got matches everything. Nice little lock on top. We’re not attached. Doesn’t take up much room at all. Overall, I think it’s a great product. I honestly bought it for my grandchildren as both of my kids use these type of gates at their homes.

I bought this gate to keep my dogs out of rooms when not home. Simple to install and use. Quality is 4 out of 5 stars to me. Locking button sticks sometimes. Happy and it works.

I purchased the Babepai Retractable Baby Gates Extra Wide | 55" Wide x 38" Tall Dog Gates for Stairs | Indoor/Outdoor Use because our Miniature Aussie refuses to stay off of our bed. I didn’t want a regular door style gate that was always in the way or one that had to be put up and taken down any time we needed to use it. I found this and thought it would be perfect. It absolutely has too! I love that you just mount it to one side of the door frame and mount the latch on the other door frame. Anytime you need to gate the door, just pull the gate out and latch it to the other side. The fabric is thick but still can make out shadows on the other side so your pet knows you’re still there and they aren’t all alone. The gate itself is very well built and easily keeps your pet/child out of areas they don’t need to be in. The gate itself slides easily in and out of its frame and takes just seconds to open/close. Overall it’s the perfect gate for us and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something that works well and still aesthetically pleasing.

This gate is the worst. If I could return it I would. The mesh is flimsy so the dogs and kids can get right under it. Does not roll back all the time. A waste of money.

This gate is was easy to put up and has solved a big problem for me. I had one that was a pain to put up and take down. I only need mine occasionally when I am dog sitting so this was a great solution. It rolls up out of the way when not needed so I don’t have to spend time installing and uninstalling it. It is solid and functions perfectly. I have had it for several months now and it has held up great. I have a German shepherd who hasn’t gotten through it with pure weight and strength, and I also pet sit dachshunds who cannot get under it.

It only keeps my senior dog in a space. My others go through it by pushing at the bottom as if it weren’t there. It’s easy to open and close though it has been in a week and already doesn’t retract. I’m keeping it because it will keep my blind senior dog from falling down the steps and if he bumps into it doesn’t have hard sharp parts to hurt him.
