5.0 out of 5 stars German Shepherd Mix with allergies May 30 2025
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Finally getting the help we need for our German Shepherd mix who has allergies and on Apoquel and injections. What we found out surprisingly is the high reactivity to E307 Alpha Tocopherol!!! A preservative in dry dogfood, as of this writing we are trying human grade food . I really had not thought of nor considered additives.
4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting But Need More Details and Less Spamming
Collecting the sample from my cat was very easy with the included flea comb. The test includes a box to mail it in with postage included. It says it will take 3-5 days to process from receipt, which it does appear to have been, as they marked it received May 7th and sent the result May 9th.The resulting report was 38 pages long, including information about how the test is done and how to interpret the results. I appreciate that the report is very emphatic that a sensitivity is NOT the same as an allergy, how to potentially help with sensitivities, and how to differentiate between the two. There is also a random page on CAM, which was weird, but *shrug*.The analysis itself is divided into five sensitivity types: food, additive, environmental, nutrition, and metals & minerals. For each section, it starts with an interpretation reminder and some additional information about that specific type, for example, what additives are or the difference between a food sensitivity and an allergy. Reactions are broken down into high, moderate, and no reactivity.Presuming the results are accurate, my cat primarily has sensitivities to various beef and pork products, plus salmon oil. While she hasn't shown a full allergic reaction, I did use the information to remove the beef varieties from the canned foods we get for the kitties, to see if it helps.Overall, I do feel like the kit provided some interesting info, though I feel like some areas could have been explained better (for example, she has high reactivity to butoxyethanol... which I had to google and is apparently a paint solvent... I would think all animals would find it poisonous!). The nutrition section lists nutritional items that are outside of range, but they don't say if they are too low or too high! Her B5 came up as highly outside of range, but does that mean she has too much or too little? Ditto crystine, which, if high, could mean she is at risk for kidney stones. The analysis page says it could mean needing a supplement, but then the rest indicates it means it should be eliminated. Like which one?I also took off a point for the amount of spamming between registering for the test and getting the result. They also tried to get me to "upgrade" to the advanced test when that's the one I already had and submitted, which was odd. Also, if you decide to do the basic test, be aware that it is separated into different ones for dogs and cats, while the advanced covers both?So overall how much will it help? I honestly don't know. But we'll go ahead and take beef out of the picture and when she gets her next check up, I will ask about the crystine and get her urine tested, just to be safe.
3.0 out of 5 stars Still waiting over 1 month later
I have had issues with this product since I sent it in. Although instructions are easy and collection was easy. Here we are over a month later and I am still waiting for results or even a confirmation of receiving the sample. And instead of sending me new things to collect and mail back I was told to just collect more hair put it in a regular envelope and mail it to them again with my codes on it. I have done that and even paid an extra $10 to put it in priority with tracking so we shall see.
1.0 out of 5 stars Bioresonance Testing?
I was SO excited to try this test to identify what specific things our boy can’t tolerate. One of my dogs has been on a limited ingredient diet for years. Because we have 3 dogs, they are all basically on the same diet and it’s a bit expensive. The main reason he’s on a limited ingredient diet is because he can’t isolate what is causing his sometimes-severe reactions. We went through the elimination diet, and I was cooking single ingredient foods to try to isolate. We did actually find foods that were not tolerated, and these were eliminated from all diets. Although we could not specifically identify with certainty what causes his sometimes-miserable reactions, we have managed fairly well by keeping all our boys on a limited ingredient diet. The test itself was easy. They provided a comb for hair samples and a postage paid envelope to send for testing. Our test was mailed on 4/18/25 and the results were emailed 5/2/25 (exactly 2 weeks). On first glance, the report is lengthy with explanations and definitions. A breakdown of sensitivities is provided (High Reactivity, Moderate Reactivity, No Reactivity) to things like foods, additives, and environmental. Some of the things we learned from the elimination diet our boy can’t tolerate were listed as No Reactivity in our results even though we knew for certain he does not tolerate (he would vomit and have diarrhea after eating). After doing more research on Bioresonance testing and the results of the test provided, I don’t have confidence the results are useful for our intended purpose of identifying things our boy can’t tolerate. Bioresonance testing is a non-invasive diagnostic technique used in holistic medicine that analyzes the body’s energy field but there is no sound scientific evidence supporting its effectiveness. I was so excited to try this test hoping for some useful information, but I don’t have confidence in the test results especially since things we know our boy can't tolerate were listed as no reactivity.
Extremely disappointed - don’t waste your money
