The bugs are excellent. Very sturdy and realistic. I bought them to teach my granddaughter who is afraid of bugs. I would definitely purchase them again.

I'm not sure what the intended use of this bug collection is (I assume they are for kids to terrorize their younger siblings with), but I got them for the cats. Although the bugs don't really do anything but sit there, the cats don't seem to mind and are happy to pounce them and pretend that they are trying to get away.If these were to be used for educational purposes, they may come up a little short...or more accurately a little large. In terms of realism, they fall somewhere between "Bug's Life" and actual real bugs, but the main difference between these bugs and real ones is the size. While a few of them (dragonfly, butterfly, grasshopper) are within the realm of possible size-wise, others like flies and ants are preposterously large. If you saw real ants this size in your house you would burn the house down and move to another state. See photo with lighter included for scale.On the other hand, if the point of these bugs is to entertain kids or antagonize younger siblings, then the ridiculously large scale of some of them will just enhance those experiences.Quality-wise, they are good. They are made of some type of hardish rubber. The top sides are solid and look fairly realistic and the bottoms have material-saving voids and are not realistic at all, but they seem to be very durable and ready to stand up to years of cat attacks or tosses into the toy box for the 5000th time. At ~ $0.75 each, it's hard to go wrong with these if you are in the market for large plastic bugs.

I ordered this set for my bug-loving 4 year old. Overall, I really like this set (and he does, too!). The bugs are made with a durable plastic with a nice weight to them. The quality of the material is consistent; however, the painting and details could use some improvements. Some of the bugs have a lot of detail, like the beetles and dragonfly, while the bee and spider seem almost an afterthought. I do like the size, as they're perfect for smaller hands to hold onto, and I don't have to fret about these being choking hazards. My 4 year old has been playing with these daily, so as far as he's concerned, these are the best toys ever. I feel these are mostly set at a good price, but would be more accurately priced if the paint job were consistent.

This 16-piece insect set was a big hit with my toddlers. A few bugs, like the scorpion, were new to them, so it turned into a fun learning moment—even if I’m not sure I’d call them truly “educational” as the listing suggests. The shapes are nicely detailed, with bright, vibrant colors (though some are painted a little better than others). They have a soft, rubbery feel, so they bend and then pop right back into shape. Overall, a solid value for any little bug lover.

These insects are awesome! Shipping took awhile, but it was worth the wait. As soon as I opened the box my 14 month old was very interested in these. So far he’s gravitating toward the centipede. There is a nice variety of bugs in different sizes and the colors are really nice. I’ve seen similar toys that have been painted really sloppily but the details on these are neat and sharp. I love how realistic these are! My only complaint is that they don’t come with an identification card which would be useful as some of the beetles I’m not quite sure about, but we can look them up together when he’s older and that in itself is a good lesson to teach. The box they come in is sturdy and we’ve just been putting them back in there for storage. All around a great purchase for the price.

Fun variety of critters in sizes that are fun to play with without being too big or too small. Coloring is good and they don't have creepy faces. Value us good and overall quality send to be good. Good overall but if you have big loving kiddos. Ours started as cake decorations and are now treasured friends.

Absolute hit! Realistic, quality creepy-crawlies. The only thing to note is that there is an imbalance of classes - e.g. lepidoptera, coleoptera, hymenoptera, arachnida all mixed together. Fun to explain the differences to children.

These plastic bugs, at time of review are over $1 CAD each. They are large, not articulated in any way and do not have realistic colours.These would be more for playing rather than teaching.
