5.0 out of 5 stars What's to say? They are good glue sticks.
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Why did you pick this product vs others?:I use glue sticks primarily with my 3D printers. They come in handy both as a means to aid with adhesion to the build plate as well as a release interface so that some materials won't permanently bond to the build plate.I have always preferred to use Elmer's purple glue sticks both for the fact that the purple turns clear once the glue dries and the fact that they are firm, not soft, which allows for a thin, even application. I wasn't sure when ordering these if they would stand up to the Elmer's on the latter count, but I knew they wouldn't have the advantage of the former point.I was very pleased to see that the consistency of these sticks is just like that of Elmer's glue sticks, which allowed me to easily apply a thin layer to the build plate. I do miss the purple-to-clear party trick, but I'll just patiently wait a while to ensure the glue dries. It's worth it to save some money: these are a fair bit cheaper than Elmer's.Overall, I love these for my 3D printing. I suspect they will work great for paper craft as well, though, ironically, I haven't really used them for anything like that.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these.
5.0 out of 5 stars They work and were competitively priced. Wash the bottom of your print if you rely on these.
They seem to be generic glue sticks with a specific branding on them The price was competitive though and they are the larger glue sticks which are easier to apply cleanly over a larger area like a print bed. Like other glue sticks you can clean up any excess on the build plate with some water or use a wet paper towel to spread what's left or excess spots around for another print. Also like other glue sticks, the glue is easy to clean and remove with some water and comes up on the bottom of the print with the print so you need reapply every few prints. You will usually need to wash the bottom of the print off to remove the glue. I only use these on my older printers or when using TPU on a PEI sheet where you really need an interface layer to keep the TPU from bonding to hard to the PEI. They work as well as any other glue stick I have used.
4.0 out of 5 stars Its glue
Works fine enough but it left residue and prints can be sticky. I tried using less and still had the same issue. Did have this issue with other sticks.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful with ASA and ABS
We have been printing some grow pods for indoor and outdoor use and the price for glue sticks locally makes bulk ordering not a great bet. I saw these and scooped them up. They work just as well as Elmer's (well without the purple to clear trick). That said I get significantly less warping and first layer issues with this. Very easy to use and a great value for the price. Sticks very well, honestly I can use glue to keep from replacing tape as often.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Bed Adhesion for 3D Printing
These glue sticks make a big difference in print adhesion and really help reduce warping. Easy to apply and clean up after printing. I appreciate having multiple sticks in a pack. Highly recommended for any 3D printer owner.
3.0 out of 5 stars Works good for ASA
Review of ”Comgrow 3D Printer Glue Stick 5 Pack, Warping Reducing 3D Printer Glue Stick for Hot Bed...":(Please refer to my reviewing guidelines at the bottom of the page).I've been doing some large prints in ASA for outdoor products and have had some issues with warping while using hairspray which has worked for all of my prints with other materials. I very much like how hairspray applies evenly as compared to using a glue stick but this PVP glue is far easier to remove form the build plate than hairspray and it does work better for ASA prints. I've never used any other glue sticks so I can't compare in that regard but this glue removes easily with soap and water with very little scrubbing. Whereas hairspray really needs a good dose of alcohol to remove and then a good washing in soap and water. I don't care for how this glue applies in that at times little chunks of glue end up on the plate that need to be smoothed out, but other glue sticks may do that as well.I've done a bit of market research on Bolo for this specific type of product and find that the current price of $8.50 for five is fairly priced for the glue stick market. I am assigning 3 stars (meaning average) because this glue stick does help with ASA but it also clumps sometimes while applying to the bedplate and I suspect that performance and pricing is fairly average. My responsibility as an Bolo Vine Reviewer:Considering the Bolo rules/regulations for being a Vine Member It is obvious that it is very important to Bolo that the person doing the review has indeed inspected, tested, used the product as well as being aware of the competitive situation of the market segment. This is so it can be fairly compared and reviewed whether good, bad, average, or anywhere in all of the grey area between. One thing that I wish were better defined by Bolo is exactly what each star should represent from 1 to 5 so that every Vine member would use the same guide in that regard. So, to let you know the guide that I use, I include it as follows:I always start off considering that average is 3 stars, and an average rating to me is:The product was correctly represented in the ad.The manufacturing quality is as expected. The product performed as intended. The product operating/user guide if needed is helpful. The product is priced accordingly. Then after inspection, measuring, testing, using, wearing, or whatever is requiredI add or subtract from the average as follows:Subject to additional stars:Additional product features not expected that are useful.Manufacturing quality/performance above what was stated or expected.Included guides and/or useful information that is beyond the norm.Product pricing highly competitive for a superior product.Subject to fewer stars:The product was misrepresented in the ad.Manufacturing quality/performance below what was stated or expected. No useful guide or understandable user information when required.Product pricing is on the high side considering quality, features, or the market.all the best,dr
5.0 out of 5 stars Same as name brand for less money
As far as I can tell, these are identical to other 3D printing glue sticks that cost more, including Elmer's branded ones. The price is great at under $2 per stick, and they work just as well for bed adhesion. The only downside is they don't work quite as well on certain materials, but that's likely just user error on my part rather than a product issue. Good value for money.
4.0 out of 5 stars 've tried this with both PLA and PETG and it works as good as any other glue stick I have used.
This is a review of the Comgrow 3D Printer Glue Stick 5 Pack, Warping Reducing 3D Printer Glue Stick for Hot Bed 3D Printer Bed Adhesive PVP Solid for PLA/ABS/PETG/PC/PA/TPU 21g/0.74oz from the Comgrow Store. At first I had some issues with the glue sticks. They didn’t seem to be holding the PLA to the print bed. But after some adjustments to the amount I put down, the prints did adhere and work well. But I don’t see anything worse or better than any of the other glue sticks I have used. I’ve used it with PLA and PETG and have similar results.
