5.0 out of 5 stars Matches NES keyboard perfectly! Looks great & feels great
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } The 8BitDo mouse is a perfect match for the NES-style keyboard. The retro design is spot-on, and they look amazing together on any setup. It feels great in the hand, with a smooth, responsive performance that makes it a joy to use whether you're working or gaming. One thing that stood out right away is how lightweight the mouse is. It was a bit unexpected at first, but definitely not a dealbreaker - just something I'll get used to over time. The side buttons are a fantastic bonus, offering easy customization for various functions and really boosting productivity.Overall, it's a thoughtfully designed piece of hardware with style and functionality to match. Highly recommend it to anyone who’s into retro aesthetics or just wants a great-performing mouse with a unique look.
4.0 out of 5 stars love 8bitdo! heavy-ish mouse, not great glide, but awesome aesthetic
First off, this mouse looks great, clearly inspired by the original green semitransparent XBOX aesthetic. It's obvious that careful attention was given to replicate the classic look, especially noticeable in the small details. The cable closely matches the original Xbox controller cables which is awesome, the USB dongle has green plastic inside, and the buttons feature a recessed, shiny appearance just like the originals. The transparent green color is very accurate, and small details from the injection molding process add an authentic touch that really enhances the transparent plastic. In terms of feel, the mouse is nice but a bit heavy, and it doesn’t glide particularly smoothly due to friction from the pads underneath, even on a table or mouse mat. The cable itself is a little stiff, which can sometimes affect movement if you're using it wired, but is just fine in the dock. Being an ambidextrous mouse, it lacks a specifically ergonomic shape but is still generally comfortable, particularly suited for a palm grip (rather than claw). One advantage is that, at least for my hand size, squeezing or gripping the mouse firmly doesn't trigger the side buttons accidentally, as they're positioned out of the way. However, a huge gripe is that the forward and back navigation side buttons don't work, but rather they just place brackets [] instead. If you have this issue, I might recommend you unbind the mouse buttons or set them to function keys like F20 and up so you can still bind in-game.The configuration software available from 8BitDo's website is robust, although initially setting it up can feel a bit awkward. It allows relatively deep customization, including DPI sensitivity settings and adjustable polling rates. According to the manual, reducing the polling rate helps battery life, though practically, I noticed very little performance difference between high and low settings, even when moving the mouse super fast and flicking, which is probably from the high-quality sensor. If you're concerned with battery life you might prefer lower settings, but for gaming or frequent chargers you can comfortably choose medium to higher rates without issues. Battery life has been excellent so far; the mouse hasn't required frequent charging, even when I occasionally forget to dock it.The DPI button is thoughtfully designed to prevent accidental activation, requiring a deliberate click that's noticeably firm, making accidental presses during gaming unlikely. The connectivity options are versatile, either by Bluetooth or utilizing a USB dongle (stored conveniently either in the dock or magnetically beneath the mouse). This feature helps keep it portable without affecting mouse movement. The dock itself is heavy, has a rubberized bottom, and stays firmly in place on the desk. Additionally, there's a USB-C port at the front of the mouse for charging, but in my testing it appears that you cannot charge and use the mouse at the same time at least in 2.4G mode.Overall, the mouse really excels in its XBOX-like design, thoughtful detailing, and versatile functionality. While not a home-run gaming mouse, it's mostly for fun, I think. The inclusion of the 8bitdo logo pin and game pass PC was a nice touch.
5.0 out of 5 stars So nice
This mouse is so stylish and convenient with it's charging base.I love it

Good mouse
4.0 out of 5 stars Love the retro green look!
This mouse looks really nice on the desktop, I love the retro xbox transparent green look. It functions well and it's battery holds a charge for a long time. The charging dock is heavy, so it doesn't slide around and it's convenient to use, with the ability to both charge the mouse and extend it's range. Being able to connect through 2.4G, USB-C, or bluetooth to various pc's and devices is an excellent convenience. The mouse is very customizable using the 8BitDo software and I am pleased with it's performance and functionality, the buttons and scroll wheel are very responsive. It feels good in your hand, but the mouse itself is on the smaller side and it's also pretty light, I find that I can't use it for extended periods of time because my hand cramps due to it's size. Overall it is a very nice product that works well, the inclusion of Game Pass for PC and the 8BitDo pin were a nice touch.
3.0 out of 5 stars Fun mouse but not for daily use or gaming
I really wanted to like this mouse, it looks great and on paper checks the marks. High dpi, pr, wireless and the wireless dongle. The problem is the shape is not ergonomic so it won't sit comfortably in your hand and the side buttons are either accidentally pressed or hard to press when needed which makes quick actions such as when gaming very very hard. Ended up returning it for this reason. If the shape was a bit larger and side buttons had some texture and not indented inwards I would definitely keep it as a daily driver.
Awesome mouse!
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Love it! Charging dock is nice and quite heavy and the mouse locks onto it nicely. Having bt build into the mouse is nice for using it on my laptop. The back and forward buttons are a little bit weird to use but I'm getting used to it. Over all this mouse is awesome and I'd recommend it
Neat and work great
Love the mouse, it does feel kinda light and wish it lit up a bit like the matching keyboard but otherwise cool for those that love the og Xbox colors
Loose left click, solid everything else
While the mouse feels great I unfortunately got one with a loose left click. Dragging windows or holding left click in certain games is a real issue if I don't apply the right force or place my finger in the right position. A real disappointment to find after trying it out for the first time.
