I really appreciate how all of their games, this one included, focus on teaching the foundational skills in an intentional manner in the early levels and then progress in difficulty gradually so that children are set up to experience success on each level rather than being overwhelmed by rapid jumps in difficulty.I appreciate how compact this game is, making it much easier to bring along in the car or to appointments in comparison to some of their other games. Although this game is a bit expensive compared to most kids toys, I am willing to spend a little more in order to have well-built, fun, and educational games available for my kids to grab.

Indirect vs direct mode I love themDirect mode is more multitask and fidgetingIndirect mode is my focus and destress and really thinkingRemembering that those lights mean exactly what they are is difficult .The more correct they give me the more difficult it was for me to figure outVery savory rich kind of thinking and I do love the way the game teaches you the next levels slowly .Very pleased will recommend .I can see myself on one of these till I'm super old lol 😆Level 51 and past is so fun and challenging ..I still don't know how I got through it 😂

This is an electronic version of the mastermind game, in the style of a 1970's or 1980's toy. A good bit of fun, even when you know the secret ways to figure the puzzle out quickly. We are on level 76 in the "indirect mode" which we call advanced mode and somewhere south of 40 on the "direct mode" which we call easy mode. Having spent more time on the advanced mode.It did take us a good 5+ minutes to figure most of the functionality out and then a could of seconds finally resting the "manual" to confirm we were correct (also learned something we had not figured out yet).The 2 player mode was not as fun, due to frequent passing back and forth as they were often solved rapidly. We were not able to determine if you can adjust the difficulty in 2 player mode or not. In singing player (at least on advanced mode) the difficulty increases every 10 levels, this includes fewer initially correct colors, more color choices, and fewer hints (you start with 4, and the game slowly takes them away).This makes it very addictive and even my 10yr old was found in bed playing with it well past her bed time! I do find the shoes price to be slightly more than double the expected price, but since everything costs more these days, I cannot say i am surprised.

It is housed in a lime-green rectangular housing consisting of a black face arranged in a "grid pattern" of colored squares that light up when powered-on. The device requires two AA Batteries for operation.I basically requested this item not even fully understanding what I was ordering at first. Like a child, I was attracted to the bright colors, which made it look interesting, and so my curiosity was elevated. Once delivered, it took a bit of studying [FOR ME] to figure out that it's a challenging little puzzle game that'll really keep you mentally sharp if you can manage to hang in there long enough to process the intructions, figure out the objective, which buttons control what, and run through it enough times to completely master the controls.In my opinion the directions really could be written and presented in a much better easy-to-understand format, but initially, [FOR ME] the directions were quite confusing.Out of the box, it takes more than a simple "once-over" with the instructions to really grasp how the game works. What I found to be extremely helpful was the other customer review videos posted by previous customers and reviewers. Once you watch one or two of the review videos, the whole thing makes much more sense.At the very top of the device is a round black "steering wheel" that reminds me of the "helm" of a ship (with handles protruding from it). Grabbing those handles and turning the wheel to the right powers the device on. When you turn the handle straight up, it lights up, and the device lights up. You are presented with 4 different colored lighted squares. Underneath each light is a broken line which indicates the puzzle you'll need to solve. At the easiest level, one of the broken lines will be green — indicating that the colored square in that position is "correct." However, the remaining broken lines [light blue] will need to be rearranged until ALL turn green. When all are green, you have correctly rearranged the colored squares in the correct sequence. In any position on the grid, you can change the color by turning the knob in the bottom right hand corner on the face of the device. You can turn it either to the right or to the left. When you're ready to move to the next position, give the round knob a short press. Once you complete all squares in that line, give the round knob a long press, and the device will show you if your sequence is correct or incorrect. If correct, all your broken lines will appear underneath each colored square. If you don't get them all right, the device will allow you to continue to retry in this same manner until you get to the last row — your 6th (Last) attempt. With each successive set of colored squares, the difficulty increases. I remember going so far, that I started to be presented with 4 colored squares, with two in the correct position. I would imagine the longer you play, the more puzzling it gets. That's the part that keeps you engaged.In essence, the objective is to "crack the code" which is based on what sequence certain colors will appear in a row.You have 6 "attempts" to get it right. Each of these tries takes you down the screen until you reach the bottom, which is the last try.Once it became clear to me what the objective is, I very quickly became addicted to this little hand-held gadget.This little hand-held game makes a great — unlimited fun — birthday, or christmas gift for people of all ages (5 & up), but especially for anyone who's up for a mental challenge. It keeps youngsters entertained while traveling, and it provides for solo play, or two players at the same time.
