It's the first time trying it and I wanted to make sure I ordered the best color for me. I'm going to order the larger one now that I'm sure of the color! I usually hate makeup or creams, even sunscreen on my face but, this is so light on my face, I can't really feel it once I apply it! Covers well and doesn't set into my fine lines...Wow!
4.0 out of 5 stars Quality product, convenient packaging, good value!
I have previously used Laura Geller Baked Balance and Brighten Foundation, and I liked it, so I was excited to try this version to see how it compared. I was a little hesitant at first, because I don’t like to be ‘shiny’ and I was afraid that the “glow” in the “Laura Geller Baked Balance n Glow” might be a little too much for me. But my worry was for naught. You do get a subtle glow from this, but it doesn’t make my skin look like I have a penchant for highlighting my entire face.I like the travel size of this for on the go touch ups or overnight trips when I don’t want to pack my full size foundation, but I do feel that the sponge that is attached to the lid is a little awkward to use and applies a little patch for my taste, I prefer to just use one of my regular brushes with this. I like that there is a mirror on the UNDERSIDE of the container, I previously tried another brand with a travel size like this that had the mirror on the handle of the applicator, which made it impossible to look at your face while applying your makeup.I think this has good staying power, as long as you prep your skin well beforehand. As a woman of a certain age, I my skin has gotten progressively drier over the years, so I find that applying a good base of hydrating skincare and a moisturizing sunscreen before using this gives it more staying power and helps keep it from settling into fine lines and sticking to dry patches.I am enjoying using this as my foundation, and I believe that when I’m done with this I will be buying it in the full size. This seems like a very small amount for the current price of $24, but having used Laura Gellar foundation before, I know that a little goes a long way, and having the convenience of being able to just toss it in my bag and go makes it worth the price to me.
5.0 out of 5 stars It works as advertised
Highly recommend it. I’ve never like to wear foundation because it cakes and my skin looks dried. I tried it this past week and was delighted on how well it covered my dark spots. It’s not heavy at all, and it didn’t cake. I live in Colorado and we have a dry climate. But this cover up was not affected.
3.0 out of 5 stars Teeny tiny and expensive, but a surprisingly good color match
Application is kind of fun with the integrated puff applicator, though I wish it could be removed and washed or replaced. It doesn't feel terribly hygienic.I picked Porcelain as my shade (I'm a pale with neutral undertones that can lean either cool or warm) and it's actually a good color match. The foundation is supposed to adjust to my skin-tone, which I actually believe because the marbled shades in the container don't really look like they're going to match well. Once swirled together, I get a slightly luminous pale tone that blends right into my skin.I applied this used the included puff, but rather than using it to apply to my whole face, I applied a press of the sponge to each cheek, my forehead (lightly) and a little bit on my chin and the tip of my nose and then used a kabuki brush to blend it out until it covered my whole face. I found that using the sponge to apply and spread the foundation caused a thicker layer of makeup and left me looking "dusty". The coverage in general is actually quite light and buildable, with a very, very faint pearlescent but almost entirely matte finish.Verdict: I like this foundation but it's definitely not "the" foundation for me. The travel size (there is a larger, full size version) is nice for people like me who don't wear makeup often or for actually traveling but it truly is TINY. I feel like the value could be better on the travel size (though that's often the case). It's expensive for the amount you get. The full size is a better value if this foundation is for you.
5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and lasts all day
I have used these products before. They are natural and light. Easy to match your color.
4.0 out of 5 stars so glowy no need for highlighter
If you want a matte, semi matte, or dewy finish, this is not for you. This is very shiny/glowy almost like a shimmery highlighting powder. I really like the ethereal glow I get from this powder foundation but it's not for everyone. It's not a full coverage foundation and it isn't supposed to be. It's low to medium and it is buildable. I get the best results on well moisturized and primed skin. If you don't mind a glowy finish, this foundation does sort of distract from lines and wrinkles by reflecting light back and sort of diffusing things that way. I have very fair, cool toned skin, and Porcelain was a perfect match. These shades do not automatically adjust to your skin tone. It's a silly claim honestly. You could probably get away with a shade that is a little too light because it's sheer coverage but if you pick a shade that is too dark, it's going to be very noticeable. If you are in between shades, I would go lighter. For me, this is a great value. The whole set up fits in my purse in one easy to use container. There's sponge inside the lid and a mirror on the back. I do prefer using a brush but the sponge will do on the go. I think the price point is correct. I know a lot of folks think it's too expensive but Laura Geller has always been a prestige tier brand. Prestige tier is not really high end or luxury but it's not as affordable as a drugstore/mass market brand. I also see some folks say, "well it's luxury for me" and that may be true, but it doesn't really mean a product is too expensive or "pricy". For the quality and performance of the product, this is a good value.
