Review:
5.0 out of 5 stars So far this watch is so impressive.
So far I positively love this watch. If it has one down side its that customizing is complicated. There seems to be infinite ways to adjust and customize, if you know how. Luckily there are tons of Youtube videos etc to help with that. Right now I understand maybe about 1/3 of the watches capabilities.I had a previous smart watch I loved that died on day 24. Even tho the watch is supposef to be waterproof I have been avoiding water. But I did notice that the watch has an eject water feature! How cool is that? Still if the water has salt or chlorine in it that can cause corrosion. But I think sweat or rain seems ok.I love how it handles my walks. It took a learning curve because you have to wait until it pinpoints its location. But once it does it works great! The downloadable maps are awesome and very easy to download from the app. I also use this to track sleep and while it wont replace a medical grade device it gives a rough idea of your sleep and keeps track of it from night to night.I have received one call and was able to speak to the person, I could hear them, they could hear me.I dont love the strap that came with this, it irritates my arm after awhile and I have to switch arms. I have ordered a different strap and thats another great thing about this watch. Lots of straps and covers readily available to customize it any way you want.Battery life is great. I charged the watch yesterday and today its 93% Tomorrow it will probably go down to 85% Youcan get several days out of a charge. I do not have always on display enabled and that would be another minor complaint. The watch is set to come on when I raise it to look at it. I have to raise my arm pretty decisively for that to work, my previous watch was better about that. Still it works, just sometimes I raise it up and it does not display - I might have a setting wrong.By the reviews this watch should last and be durable and I really hope so, I really like it. Especially for the price point its awesome.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Amazfit - Excellent so far.
Edit (06/10/25): Now about 8 days into the Bip 6. After a week of use, the watch was sitting at 50% charge. I charged it up to 96%+ in about an hour. I'm using a USBC charger which I think provides about 2A. Can't say for sure as it's a charger built into a lamp in my bedroom that has both USBC and USBA; the "C" charger shows my Pixel phone charges "rapidly" whereas the "A" plug charges normally (slower but fast enough for the phone to hit 100% sometime during the night). I did try the "A" port (with an A-to-C cable) but it is slower. Still totally happy with the Bip 6. More feedback in a few months.Early days but I thought it might be helpful for those trying to decide between a Fitbit and this Amazfit Bip 6 (a truly unfortunate name). I had been using a Fitbit Charge 5 for a couple of years. The first week I wore it, the Charge 5 detected Afib and that probably saved my life. So I wanted to really like the Charge 5 and continue using it. However, I discovered it was terribly inconsistent in providing a sleep score and HRV; perhaps 40% of the time it just failed. A month or so ago (after 2+ years of use), it would just go "black screen" if I did anything with the Charge 5 other than simply looking at the screen. The battery also didn't last very long and the charger "connection" (magnetic) was hit-or-miss so it was time for a new watch. After deciding against another Fitbit (reviews have gotten worse over the years and Google has already said Fitbit will soon no longer be supported properly), the choice was either an expensive Garmin (and they're all expensive), a Samsung Galaxy watch (also $$$), or one of these "cheap" Chinese brands. (Can't use an Apple watch as my phone is of the Android variety). This Amazfit seemed to have the best reviews of the cheap smartwatches so I bought it with the 3-yr warranty for under $100 total. Bolo delivered it the next morning. Followed the prompts and set it up in a few minutes so it syncs with my Pixel 6a with the Amazfit Zepp app.I charged it using the provided charger "puck" (you must provide your own USB-C cable, remember this!) and, once it reached 100% (a couple of hours maybe), I strapped it on and configured the watch both with the watch's preferences and the Zepp app. I have most of the integration with the phone switched off; why did I need to answer my phone with the watch when I have my phone on my hip all day? I just wanted the watch to keep track of my steps, heart health, and sleep (the latter the most important point). So here we are after three nights and the watch seems to be 100% accurate in sleep tracking and heart health reporting (and it keeps perfect time, of course). As I indicated above, these are still early days but I'm thrilled with this Bip 6. I even am dabbling in the watchface creation app on the web and even that works! Why would I want to use that? I hate tiny type on a large screen so why not make a watchface that really shows off how large all the information can be presented? Great stuff.I am not going to test how waterproof the watch might be; I remove it before showering or swimming and am careful otherwise. BTW: There's a function on the watch where you can "eject" any water that might have found its way into the speaker. (Yes; the watch can play music and you can speak through it to your phone but I'm not going down that patch.)The only downside I can see (and it's not for me) is the length of the band; I have a small wrist but the fourth hole in the strap makes the watch fit properly; I would have expected a longer strap for larger wrists. However, using that fourth hole leaves about 1.75" beyond the buckle (.75" of which tucks back inside the band and that's fine). I would recommend to Amazfit that they provide a longer strap for larger wrists (much like how Fitbit does it).Oh, yeah; one more thing. One of the included apps on the phone is a compass! I set it up so one of the buttons on the side of the watch launches it. You know when your GPS starts off by saying "head east"? Who knows where that is without a compass? Now I know.I'll report back in a few months with more info.
5.0 out of 5 stars I love this watch
I bought this watch for my wife's birthday as she was wanting a new fitness watch and the price of the "fruit" branded watch was way out of line. I bought it with the condition that if she didn't like it, I would gladly take it for myself. It turned out it was a little too bulky for her and having fractured her wrist that is still tender, she couldn't wear it tight enough to properly record. Furthermore, it did not pair to her weight loss app to count calories. Her loss was my gain. I bought a set of watch bands that look more masculine, reset it and paired it to my Android phone and have loved it ever since. I previously owned a Bip 2 Pro that I've had for several years, so I knew the quality, reliability and battery life of Amazfit. I am now spoiled. I've had it several weeks and I'm still discovering new features. Everything works flawlessly. It's hard to believe you can buy this many well-thought-out features for $80. After owning this, I'm no longer even considering the name brand Android watch. I'm surprised to find a watch where you can answer to phone with reasonable audio quality as well as respond with voice to text on a sub $100 watch.Honestly, I was kind of hoping my wife wouldn't want this watch. For me it's the perfect blend of quality, robust features and price. I recommend this watch to everyone. After writing this I answered my first phone call. My wife couldn't tell that I was not using my phone's microphone. I can't say the same about people who use the "fruit" watch to respond to calls.
EXCELLENT PRODUCT
I have only had my Amazfit bip 6 Smartwatch for a few weeks now and it has been better than I expected. From the reviews I had checked it sounded like the Sleep Tracking was poor. However, I have found it mostly accurate. There have been a couple of times it has not recognized all of my awake time but otherwise Start & Finish has been very accurate. Walking has also been very accurate based on GPS data. Finding correct icons on the phone does take some learning. I received a cell phone call with my phone some distance away and it worked very good with speaker volume Ok as well. The Guideline Notes are also very good. I am really pleased to have bought it, for the cost $160 NZ (US$96 Inc delivery) so it is great value. The Zepp software runs great on my cheaper Samsung Galaxy A16G5. Overall, Highly Recommend and Bolo delivered to me here in South New Zealand in about 5 days so again very impressive. thanks Bolo. I have no affiliations with either Company.
