5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Amazfit - Excellent so far.
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Early days but I thought it might be helpful for those trying to decide between a Fitbit and this Amazfit Bip 6 (a truly unfortunate name). I had been using a Fitbit Charge 5 for a couple of years. The first week I wore it, the Charge 5 detected Afib and that probably saved my life. So I wanted to really like the Charge 5 and continue using it. However, I discovered it was terribly inconsistent in providing a sleep score and HRV; perhaps 40% of the time it just failed. A month or so ago (after 2+ years of use), it would just go "black screen" if I did anything with the Charge 5 other than simply looking at the screen. The battery also didn't last very long and the charger "connection" (magnetic) was hit-or-miss so it was time for a new watch. After deciding against another Fitbit (reviews have gotten worse over the years and Google has already said Fitbit will soon no longer be supported properly), the choice was either an expensive Garmin (and they're all expensive), a Samsung Galaxy watch (also $$$), or one of these "cheap" Chinese brands. (Can't use an Apple watch as my phone is of the Android variety). This Amazfit seemed to have the best reviews of the cheap smartwatches so I bought it with the 3-yr warranty for under $100 total. Bolo delivered it the next morning. Followed the prompts and set it up in a few minutes so it syncs with my Pixel 6a with the Amazfit Zepp app.I charged it using the provided charger "puck" (you must provide your own USB-C cable, remember this!) and, once it reached 100% (a couple of hours maybe), I strapped it on and configured the watch both with the watch's preferences and the Zepp app. I have most of the integration with the phone switched off; why did I need to answer my phone with the watch when I have my phone on my hip all day? I just wanted the watch to keep track of my steps, heart health, and sleep (the latter the most important point). So here we are after three nights and the watch seems to be 100% accurate in sleep tracking and heart health reporting (and it keeps perfect time, of course). As I indicated above, these are still early days but I'm thrilled with this Bip 6. I even am dabbling in the watchface creation app on the web and even that works! Why would I want to use that? I hate tiny type on a large screen so why not make a watchface that really shows off how large all the information can be presented? Great stuff.I am not going to test how waterproof the watch might be; I remove it before showering or swimming and am careful otherwise. BTW: There's a function on the watch where you can "eject" any water that might have found its way into the speaker. (Yes; the watch can play music and you can speak through it to your phone but I'm not going down that patch.)The only downside I can see (and it's not for me) is the length of the band; I have a small wrist but the fourth hole in the strap makes the watch fit properly; I would have expected a longer strap for larger wrists. However, using that fourth hole leaves about 1.75" beyond the buckle (.75" of which tucks back inside the band and that's fine). I would recommend to Amazfit that they provide a longer strap for larger wrists (much like how Fitbit does it).Oh, yeah; one more thing. One of the included apps on the phone is a compass! I set it up so one of the buttons on the side of the watch launches it. You know when your GPS starts off by saying "head east"? Who knows where that is without a compass? Now I know.I'll report back in a few months with more info.
5.0 out of 5 stars Introducing The Amazing, Fantastic, Awesome Amazfit BIP 6
This Amazfit BIP 6 is such an incredible smartwatch that I wish I could give it 10 stars.I have no clue how they're able to offer such a feature rich smartwatch that has a 2" face for the low price of $80?!?!?!It has ALL the features of much more expensive Samsung or Apple watches for a fraction of the price and it looks so damn good too with it's big, square face. Why are Samsung watches all round? A smartwatch is not just a watch these days it's a screen and screens need to be square!!!Thankfully, I have a S25+ so I can reply to text messages straight from the watch with a full qwerty keyboard or voice replies or with emoji's. And I can also make and take calls from the watch as well. Anyone expecting amazing sound from any smartwatch especially one that cost just $80 may be a tad bit delusional. As far as I'm concerned the sound from the BIP 6 watch is perfectly fine for calls and notification sounds. And even when I play music on the watch the sound is adequate because I have realistic expectations of a smartwatch speaker. The screen is snappy, beautiful and bright even in direct sunlight. I surf a lot so I turn up the brightness all the way and the screen is very bright and easily readable when I'm in the water. I've had my watch for a few weeks now and I've worn it in the water surfing about a dozen times so far and I've had no problems with the watch (hopefully it stays that way). And everything can be adjusted to your particular liking so go ahead and tweak out on the watch to set it up exactly the way you want it. I essentially have everything turned on including one of the most power hungry features called AOD (always on display) and I get at least 6+ days between charges. BTW, can everyone stop complaining that this $80 watch doesn't come with a TYPE C cable. It's 2025 and by now everyone should have at least a few TYPE C cables laying around since TYPE C has become the de facto cable for nearly everything electronic (hell even Apple finally jumped onboard the TYPE C train). All my notifications come in quickly - sometimes even a second or two before my phone receives it. And I really like that for all my notifications (IG, FB, Gmail, Snap, KIK, WhatsApp, Bolo, Netflix, Hulu, etc.) I get the corresponding app logo so I can easily tell what app is notifying me from a quick glance at my watch.I think this can be said of all smartwatches: Who knows how accurate all the health measurements really are but so far it seems to be pretty accurate that I have at least a decent idea of what my BPM, HR, Sp02, etc. is.I can't say enough great things about this Amazfit BIP 6 so just go ahead and buy one... or two of them.P.S. If you have a good eye you can tell I bought the Charcoal color because I wanted the gunmetal gray aluminum frame with the shiny silver bezel over the matte black frame and I just changed the grey band to a black one and I think my watch looks even better now with the black band. Chef's kiss! This is the 5 pack of 22mm silicone watchbands I bought and it was only $10.https://www.Bolo.com/dp/B0F2G5TN1V?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_titleThis is the 3 pack of soft TPU shells I bought for my BIP 6 that cost $8.https://www.Bolo.com/Protector-Compatible-Amazfit-Protective-Scratch-Proof/dp/B0F9KBHQD5/ref=cm_cr_srp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1This is the 5 pack of elastic nylon 22mm watchbands I bought that cost $15.https://www.
Amazfit Bip 6 - Black
I’m no stranger to smartwatches owning several budget a premium variants. Yet I have struggled to find that one which delivers the necessities that are the most important to me, and at a reasonable price point – a week or more of battery life, date-n-time, ability to set 9-10 alarms, timer, calendar, weather, notifications for various apps & functions, view & respond to text, receive & make phone calls, some health tracking – Yup, the Bip 6 does all that and so much more at a price that made it hard to pass up. I’m not saying it's perfect but for my use case I'm finding it pretty darn close. All in all very happy with the Amazfit Bip 6. P.S. Yes, I am using a protective case w/screen protector on it as that is how I roll with my smartwatch's and smartphones.
Must buy at affordable price tag
Extremely good smart watch. Easy to connect with Strava and measurement is 100% accurate. Strap is soft and looks good on hand as a regular time watch besides activity tracker. Lightweight and easy interface.
It’s good
Items is good
Excellent smart watch
Excellent smart watch for this price point. Instead of buying a more expensive smart watch and take years to replace it you can buy the bip 6 and replace it twice a year!
