The sandalwood scent is pleasant and not overpowering, which I really appreciate. Unfortunately, it does leave an oily feel, which I’m not a big fan of. When used sparingly and worked throughout the beard, it does seem to help soften my beard, however it does little to hold the hair in place or tame flyaways. Nonetheless, if you're looking for a beard moisturizer and don't mind the added oiliness, this may be worth a try. It's definitely a budget friendly alternative that's manufactured in the People's Republic of China.

Switched to this briefly off of a sandalwood beard oil product - this was not really as effective and a pain to apply. You have to soften it quite a while with body heat to get it pliable enough to work into your beard, and once you've got that done I found the result wasn't as good as the oil I'd been using before. My beard tends to get a bit frizzy due to humidity where I live, and this balm didn't really do much for it - it went back to being a bit frayed and wild pretty quickly. Ended up going back to my previous product - it's a little more expensive than this, but much more effective.
