This one came up on sale, and I could not pass it up. It is really nice, and the picture is great. I was concerned about the viewing angle, because that can be a problem in this price range. It is not a problem here. You can watch things thing if you were sitting right next to it. The picture and sound quality are amazing, and it has all the cool audio formats if you want to output to something else. I could not be happier with this TV and the picture and sound. Enough so when I replace another one of my older TVs, I may stick with this model on a larger scale instead of paying much more for the "nicer" models. That said, in my case, I was replacing an older TV that had a Fire TV Stick 4K on it. I was expecting the Fire TV interface to be better than that since it's all built in. This TV comes with Wi-Fi 5, which is a bit disappointing since the stick had Wi-Fi 6, and my better sticks have Wi-Fi 6e. You would think the newest TV would have a more updated Wifi version. Not a big deal. Most of my smart TVs I just use the sticks versus the TV interface, so I can switch back to the stick if needed. So far the Wi-Fi 5 is doing just fine. Next, if you are restoring from another Fire TV device backup, don't even try using it for a while. Let it do its thing like update the Fire TV version, and all the apps. It's not easy to know where it is in the process. I don't believe there is a way to see the queue, you just get notices that apps are ready to use. Give it 30-60 minutes depending on how many apps you have installed. I told it to restore from the existing sticks backup, and then tried to go in and use it right away. I received all sorts of errors with logins. The YouTube app I had to uninstall and reinstall to get it to work at all. Fire TV is sort of it's own special torture anyway, but I think if you wait until it downloads and updates everything you will be happier in the long run. Again, don't let this discourage you from buying it. It works great. Fire TV is just a bit special, especially the Hulu and Paramount+ apps which seem very prone to crashing. I still use it on every TV in my house though.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice picture and sound quality, perfect size for our living room
The media could not be loaded. Our living room is where this 85 inch TV lives, and we picked it after measuring everything out. Our couch is 16 feet from the wall, and the wall itself is 9.5 feet wide. This TV was hung center, looks just the perfect size for our set. Sitting on the farthest couch, the picture stays a good size and clear, which is good for everyone spread out in the room. The size feels spot-on for the space, literally filling the wall without looking out of place. The Wi-Fi connect is stable, with no lag. The brightness is good for both daytime and night use.The picture quality is decent. We like streaming high-definition movies, and the colors pop, blues are deep, reds are rich, and everything looks crisp. Compared to our old 65-inch TV, it’s a noticeable step up, especially for those blockbuster films. The built-in Fire TV system is handy. Since we use Fire Sticks on other TVs, it’s nice to have it integrated here. The voice remote with Alexa works for turning it on or off.Sound-wise, it’s got Dolby Atmos, and for stuff like morning news, the TV’s speakers are clear with decent depth. But for movies, we stick with our separate Dolby surround sound system. It just gives that extra punch for explosions or music that the TV alone can’t match. I don’t think the TV’s audio is bad, but our external setup suits us better for immersive nights. Now, the not-so-fun part: installation. This thing is massive and heavy. We went for a wall mount to save space (the TV doesn’t come with a wall bracket, you’ll need to buy one separately). It took two of us to get it up, and even then, it was a workout. The TV is slim, which looks sleek once mounted, sitting about 5IN from the wall. But here’s a tip: connect all your cables before hanging it. We learned the hard way, having to take it down to plug in our sound system. There are plenty of ports back there for add-ons, which is thoughtful, but plan ahead. The stand included is for TV stands, not wall mounting. If you are not wall-mounting, the stand seems sturdy, but we have only used it for two days, so I can’t say much about it. Also, the remote is fine, but sometimes Alexa doesn’t catch my commands if the room’s noise. All in all, our family are satisfied. The picture and size make movie nights feel more enjoyable, and the Fire TV setup keeps things simple. But the setup process and extra cost for a wall mount are worth keeping in mind. It’s been a good fit for our living room. If you’re eyeing a big screen, just be ready for some heavy lifting to get it up and running.
5.0 out of 5 stars Really really great buy for the price(43 inches version)
Love the TV, in daylight is not too bright but at night its brightness is really awesome. And I was quite surprise that I can install besides prime( this is an Bolo TV) Apple TV+, Disney+Hulu, Shudder And Fandango Home App. Of course Netflix is there as well as many others.Since I have FIOS 2G, I can view Prime and Fandango At Home movies in 4K or UHD. It also supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision as well as HDRThe TV has sound but in my opinion is not great, so I just added A Fire Sound Bar. And now the sound is perfect.PS/It also comes with a network jack. This is not mention in the specs but I guess this must be standard for smart TVsPS2/it seems natively works with Apple TV+ which comes up during the initial setup but I did not tried it.PS3/it also works with a 4K Apple TV 4K device but the picture quality is not as good as with My Bolo Fire 4K Cube so I don’t recommend it with the Apple device. Although the sound was actually better
1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this TV!
This TV is a complete and utter disappointment. The operating system and processor is inadequate, sluggish, and terribly slow. The tv doesn’t register a volume adjustment for 2-3 seconds. Opening a streaming app takes longer. The system’s up-scaling is slow and often blurs your content. The up-scaling also fails to deliver a quality end product and most people look like they have a filter overlaid on the picture. I’ve given the tv ample time to try different components like streaming, television, and gaming. I’d opt for a more quality brand at a similar price. This one is not worth your time.
