He says it works very well and has used it to fix pipes and also some bodywork on my car. It’s a very good price and a very durable product. Recommend

So i'm not a good welder, not even a little bit, and honestly i don't do too much metalwork so i've not really needed to get a welder except for the occasional project where i might need to do a quick weld. Up to this point since it's all been non structural, i've resorted to other methods like epoxy, but when the chance came up to have a portable arc welder, i figured it would be a nice thing to have on hand in case of a welding emergency.This welder isn't going to be anyone's primary machine if they do a lot of welding, however for someone like me who needs to occasionally just lay down a bead to attach some steel, it will get the job done. I gave it a shot, and even though it's been a few years since i did some arc welding, i was actually able to lay down a not completely horrible bead. The accessories that come with the welder (Mask, Gloves, and Hammer/brush) are pretty much 100% useless, but that's to be expected. The mask is of particular poor quality, it's one you hold up to your face with a handle, which immediately fell off when i tried to use it and would need to be glued on, and you're really just looking through a piece of welding plastic held in by clips, so i'd do yourself a favor and just get any other cheap welding mask. Other than that it's good to have piece of mind that if i need to just do a quick weld, i now have the ability to do it, and without requiring gas canisters, or excessive space taken up in my shop.

Everything it comes with, besides maybe the rods, are cheap junk. The welding mask may as well be sold as a halloween mask. The gloves are completely useless, as they don't cover the wrist and they aren't leather.The welder itself is pretty good, but my big grip is with the position of the amperage adjustment knob. It's way too easy to bump it, and the knob moves easily. This knob could be on the top instead. Also the weight balance could be better if the knob were moved and the handle sat an inch or so more toward the front.It's just a baffling decision to put the knob where it is, and honestly if you want a handheld welder to use often, you should find something that makes those changes. If you just need something to use occasional, and it's much cheaper, then that can be overlooked.As far as weld quality goes, it works great. Has a low of power. Popped my 20A breaker when set to 200, but I also had the AC running on that circuit, so that's probably why. I busted out the 240v to 120v adapter and tried it on a 30A circuit, and it worked great. It really lays down a heavy bead like nothing. I think this might replace my cheap 240v mig welder because of how much faster and more convenient it is to use.It's a good welder if you aren't serious and it's a cheaper option. You won't get far or have a good time with the provided helmet and gloves though. Also be sure to wear long sleeve cotton shirts, pants, boots, and a leather apron if you have one.

I’m not experience at welding so I got this to start teaching myself with help from videos online. I can report that this welder does work and I am on my way to becoming a pro. It’s a lot harder than I anticipated but I’m enjoying the challenge. It feels solid but I really don’t know much about these things.

The media could not be loaded. I have not welded and I want to learn. I didn't want to invest in a welder because I need to weld once in a while but nowhere near often enough to justify expensive equipment and the space it takes. This gem is absolute GOLD! First off, the accessories are junk and pretty much useless. I guess you could use the gloves and mask in a pinch but I wouldn't recommend it if you have your own equipment. That being said, at the price point of this thing, I don't care that the accessories are junk so I'm not deducting anything for that. Since I am new to welding and have never done it, I enlisted the help of my brother and another friend to review this piece. The welder itself and rods are solid and work great. It lays down a nice bead and again, at this price point, you can't expect anything more. The friend that assisted commented that he had been seeing ads for these things and was considering buying one, but he said they are so cheap he didn't trust it would be worth it. He is now 100 percent going to get one of his own. That's a good enough endorsement for me, from someone who knows what he's talking about. I'm really impressed with the results and I look forward to learning for myself and using this awesome tool. And hey, it comes with its own case too, a nice and needed touch. Have welder and can travel. Love it.

Pleasantly surprise at just how easy to set up and how effective this Faiuot Welding machine is! It took only a few minutes to read the operating instructions and set up the machine for the first weld, even less to figure out the optimal setting and run a decent (for the first time) bead.This little stick welder is ideal for what we use it for in my shop, primarily to tack weld billets together for forging and welding simple stands for lawn oraments. The flux-coated rods that came with this Faiuot machine are approximately 3/32 diameter (will support up to 1/8" ), mild steel rods and are suitable for welding steel up to probably 3/16 mild steel plate. The first attempt was to just run a couple of test beads and fill in a hole on a piece of 1/4 steel. It does take some getting used to and, although reasonably lightweight, it is still much heavier that a regular stick clamp and requires some sort of support to get the best out of the machine (see photo). But all things considered, not too bad! This machine is so simple and yet effective and a real value for the money, my only hesitation to giving it 5 starts is the question of how long it will last. If it lasts is should rate 5 starts for value, time will tell.
